Limited praise considering any top 10 147lb fighter would have beaten that version of De La Hoya. Praise all the same, though.
Pac Knocked Barrera down 2x - Straight lefts and accumulation Pac knocked Morales down 4x - all straight left hands Pac Knocked JMM down 4 times 3 straight lefts and a left cross. Pac knocked Diaz down 1x - same shot landed on jmm 2nd fight in late rounds. DLH was in trouble in route to getting Koed.. Everybody knows it was just a matter of time. Pac doubles up on his left like Jabs againts DLH whereas his left foot used to lift of the ground when throwing the power left prior... Pac never landed anything of the sort againts De La Hoya.. He was on his toes and completely balanced the entire fight... I do agree his punches would be less effective at the weight but to say De La Hoya was totally unaffected is a just wrong... Manny would've started sitting down on his punches and woulda tried to get DLH out of there before the 12th... He wasn't sitting on any of his punches cuz he was constantly moving...He didn't move as much againts Morales, or JMM or barrera he was always in front of them darting in and out. He was at angles with DLH and couldn't sit on anything.
That may be true.....but Pacquiao still had to go in there and get it done for real......and he should get credit for doing it in grand style!:deal
I dont think anyone is saying DLH was unaffected.....or course he was effected, he did'nt come out for the 9th...... .....what alot of us are saying is that as a Welter or even a juniorwelter, Pac's not going to be knocking the higher tier guys down with a single shot anymore...... I dont believe Pac even has the one shot power to make a fighter like Hatton buckle with a single shot...... Pac may be able to get it done by accumulation, but its not going to come by way of concussive power any longer.
What is your point? He wasn't fighting Floyd at 147lb. He hadn't fought there for 7 years, and he didn't put on his usual weight mass after the weigh-in. The actual fight itself turned out to be embarrassing, with Oscar being physically inept and after a few rounds, mentally scarred also.
excuses...dela hoya is favored to win in that matched and he was the one that dictated the terms of the contract...he was so confident with his staff that he make the wrong game plan...no excuses, if he is man enough, he should have ask for a rematch at 154 but he knows people wont buy it...and what's the reason? pac would make oscar quit the same way
We can't be sure about that considering that the best P4P and best 147lb then barely won against him.:nono
And yet despite not having his usual weight mass after the weight-in, you still called the fight in favor of De La Hoya... by stoppage to be exact!atsch And you were dead wrong with it! "turned out to be embarrassing"... "mentally scarred"... You're not referring to your self, aren't you? Have a nice weekend mate! :hi::hi::hi:
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl The usual excuses of losers. I beat you won't field those excuses had Oscar won in that condition. You're loser. Like Nallege, you lost your credibility her in ESB.
I agree with you that Pac may not have the single shot to put down Hatton or other welterweights. His style is unique in the sense that he swarms his opponents w/ punishing punches and KO/TKO them out in the later rounds. He did that to Morales, Diaz, dela Hoya.
The fact that a former 107 lb fighter fought in the 147 and TKO one of the best fighters in the world is a worthy of unlimited praise. He's actually being compared to Armstrong of yore.
I got here after p4pdbest was already banned, so I would have to say you're most ball-lickinest nuthugger I've ever seen in my life.
This is true, Pacquiao wasn't sitting down on his punches. Not on most of them anyway. I wonder if he'll get the opportunity to sit down on his punches against Hatton?
