"Kermit Cintron is a great choice, but it's Mayweather's team who will have to decide. But the possibility is very great...Mayweather Jr. wants to fight one of the best welterweights and Cintron is considered as one of them. He's a natural welterweight and now that he's learned to box more, he looks like a tough opponent for Mayweather Jr."

I'm not terribly excited about this fight. However, Cintron is pretty much the same level of opponent as Clottey. If HBO hasn't decided whom to back, Mayweather should fight Cintron and have it put on regular HBO. If HBO has decided to show the Pacquiao fight, Floyd shouldn't waste his time with Cintron and should go straight after Mosley in May.

Interesting choice, but not bad by any stretch of the imagination. At least he wouldn't be considered a smaller guy.

I would be interested in a Mayweather vs Cintron fight. At least Cintron is a natural welter with a big punch.

HBO is going to show Pac vs Clottey. No way they pass up ANY Pac fight, especially at this huge event in Cowboys Stadium. HBO couldn't afford to pay Mayweathers wage demands and keep the fight on regular HBO. His fight would have to be a PPV.

It is an interesting choice , that's why Mayweather won't take it.

Just as long as its not Campbell or Paulie!

I can live with that but would prefer for him to fight Berto\Mosley winner!:good

just remembered floyd fans used to make fun of margo fans for listing cintron as one of his big wins because cintron was a cry baby and not even a good fighter, well then i better not see floyd boys hyping cintron to be great after floyd beats his ass.

I wouldn't put Cintron in the same group as Clottey. Look at their performances against Margarito.

I like the idea, Cintron can be viewed as an un beaten fighter considering the recent Margarito findings, well I still felt he lost to Martinez, but hey its what evers

Looks like they are committed to keeping the date at all costs. Pissing contest/war between Top Rank and Golden Boy. This could have purse split implications if they try and make Pac/May again.

What? Clottey is a better fighter than Cintron, much better.

Clottey has just been unlucky, he broke his hand against Margarito, he got DQ'd against Badly, and if not for the off balance KD against Cotto he probably would of won the fight.
