Titles dont mean ****. Clottey and Cintron are not on the same level. Where as Clottey has looked good against ALL competition...give me one fight where he is actually beaten convincingly where as Cintron has been beaten every time hes stepped up in competion convincingly. How the **** he got the draw against Martinez after he was KO'ed and beaten by points is beyond me. Margarito destroyed him twice, where as Clottey at least made it close. Cintron is a good sized welterweight with a good right hand and thats about it. If this is just a stay busy fight, cool, its a good stay busy fight, but lets not act like its Floyd finally facing a top welter, Id honestly rather see him face Callazo.

Im not trying to say the Clottey fight is THAT much better than fighting Cintron, and out of the options available its good, although like I said Id rather see him face Collazo. I can just see the Floyd nuthuggers trying to make this fight and/or victory something that it isnt.

Head to head, Cintron in my estimation has more boxing skill than Clottey. He also has more of a puncher's chance because of his advantages in hand speed and power. I couldn't see Clottey winning a round against Mayweather. Smart money would be on a complete blowout. His main attribute is his durability, which means Floyd would potshot him for 12 rounds, just like he did to Baldomir. He just doesn't have the footwork to give Mayweather any problems.

I don't understand why people insist that he's a better match up than Cintron. Cintron is one of the hardest hitters at 147, and his only 2 losses are disputable. It's better than him fighting Matthew Hatton or Paulie Malignaggi. Both of those fighters would get completely outclassed. He's the most solid choice outside of Paul Williams, who Mayweather will never fight, and the Berto/Mosley winner, who won't be ready. I would rather watch this fight than Pac/Clottey.

Agreed. Cintron is a good choice among the available options. Cintron moved up in weight and beat a very good and hyped prospect, and regardless of whether you feel he should have won or lost, he got a draw against Martinez, the #1 Jr. Middleweight and on several top 10 P4P lists. The same Martinez who came this close to beating Paul Williams, who is on everybody's Top 10 P4P list. It shows that Cintron, if nothing else, is to be taken seriously as an opponent. He's anything but a cherry-picked opponent.

    Over at the scene

they are reporting, Cintron and Dibella are willing to make the deal within the hour, they just want the call from Mayweather.

if the pac/clottey fight is at 145 than the floyd/cintron fight would be on par. If at 147, clottey is probably the more competitive fight.

Don't even fight at all if Cintron is your best option. That's terrible. Seriously, this fight doesn't excite me in the least bit, and I watch every boxing event that comes on TV from every FNF to even the middle of nowhere **** they show on Versus. This is an absolute **** fight and probably will be put on PPV too.. A travesty..

I would have prefer him facing Bradley at 147.

Cintron has been awful in his last few fights TBH.

How about we call his first fight his tune up to get back into boxing and this one his tuneup at 147? Seriously. It ain't the Pac fight but still.... If you want him to fight Mosely or Pac next this ain't a bad step.
