...he would like to stage his next fight in May at Dodgers Stadium, where I believe only fight has ever taken place. :think
Why not the Coluseum instead? It holds way more and is a cooler looking stadium. They could walk down those steps on their way to the ring.
Definitely if they can fill the seats, which De La Hoya can, they should be fighting in baseball stadiums. Huge atmosphere.
Huge fights = GREAT for boxing. Think of the Dempsey-Tunney fights...breaking 100K in attendance would put boxing right back on the map. The problem with the modern PPV era is that nobody gives a **** about PPV except those who buy it, which eliminates any kind of word-of-mouth and happenstance advertising. If it's advertised as "BIGGEST FIGHT OF THE 21ST CENTURY - DODGERS STADIUM - $50" or whatnot, we could relive the glory days.
Because more people relate to Dodger Stadium. Just the fact that it's a Dodger stadium is awesome! Everyone has memories of DS when they were kids, everyone goes atleast twice to Dodger stadium every year. Seats are great at DS. DS is like a second home to many.
honestly i just would rather see fights in ppv, unless if you have a real good seat... just think about watching a fight in a stadium and hardly being able to hear or see anything... i bet if they had the kind of technology we have now back then in t.v., a lot of people would have rather just stay home and watch it there...
i slightly disagree, yea its always been for the money, but DLH still has some left in the tank... his fight against mayweather was competitive, i do agree he lost that fight clearly, but it wasnt one sided... i think his style now would be real exciting for the avg. boxing fan were he wants to stand and trade more often....
He's not done. He just had a close fight with the best fighter in the world. He is far from the fighter he once was, but still very very good. I think it's a great idea.
you are right... not to a boxing fight... but i have been to a baseball, football and basketball.... is it a great atmosphere, hell yea, but honestly, if u have bad seats i will rather just stay home... i have had both good and bad seats... and as i said, if i wouldnt have good seats to watch a boxing fight esp. in a stadium, i will just rather watch it in t.v....
I would to be in attendance at Dodger Stadium for a big fight. But it has to be 2 California based fighters. I would love to see Margarito/Mosley fight there. Although, I would not pay to watch a DLH farce.
