If I had any shred of respect left for ODLH it went out the window. Boxing is the one thing I watch with undying loyalty. I love this sport and it gives me something to look forward too and discuss amongst friends. Every time I try and talk boxing with someone other than close friends and family they have very little knowledge of the sport. Most people I talk to know allot about MMA. Although I respect MMA and watch it occasionally I do not want these two sports to be mixed. Its like mixing two delicious ingredients that will make the end product taste like ****. ODLH you should be ashamed of yourself because you don't care if this helps boxing or breaks it. Just as long as you keep making money. You have millions and millions of dollars you greedy **** and all you want to do is make more. For all the true die hard boxing fans lets hope this is not a bad sign of people like ODLH changing the sport we love. Below is a link which fueled me to write this. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3864131
I would think with his fat ass it would be Sumo and boxing. He is a disgusting pig. I hate seeing pictures of that guy now. I love MMA and boxing. You just have to know that they are different sports and not try to compare.
""How could you not attend a fight that involves a boxer who is a partner in your company in a sold-out arena where they have a statue of you out front?" Shaw said. "That's a slap in the face to boxing." How spot-on is that?
While I agree with you, I have to ask : "Shaw said?" As in Gary Shaw??? The same Gary Shaw that put Kimbo Slice on free TV, and not boxing Gary Shaw?? What he did is like buying the million dollar diamond necklace for the side mistress (MMA), while leaving the wife (boxing) waiting out in the rain, with no ride home, in a bad neighborhood, with out her cell phone, and in uncomfortable shoes for having to walk it. He has no right to criticize on this topic, and **** ODH anyways.:bart
I've said it before, boxing is not going to be hurt by MMA if the best matchups are consistently made. In recent memory, one of the serious flaws of the sport has been that with the four different title belts, it's difficult to get the best bouts made. That seems to be changing, and that's great. If boxing feels threatened by MMA, then that's good. If boxing tries to be as good as it can be, the fans will be there. I'm a fan of both boxing and MMA and I don't want to see either disappear. Isn't a little bit of competition for PPV dollars a good thing?
"Actually, I find it offensive. The guys can't punch. They get on the floor and it looks like two guys humping each other." -Bob Arum
Mr. Arum has an inferiority complex. It's a part of boxing becoming #2 behind MMA for North American whites. As do most people here and other boxing fans. If you notice, MMA fans don't care about boxing. You don't see Joe Rogan on UFC ppvs talking about why this is superior to the latest boxing ppv. Lampley on the other hand, feels the need to point out his inferiority complex on the biggest boxing match gate at that time. Well, boxing is not trying to be as good as it can be when there are fifty million world title belts, twenty weight classes, and forty boxers that all have records of 25-0, think they're due a world title shot, and have never faced anyone. When boxing fixes that, I'll start buying boxing ppvs and putting money into the sport. Until then, nada.
