More credible? Not really, they are closer to the same level. The reason Spike shouldn't be considered is:

Canelo fights twice a year. With that schedule, there's not much room for gimmes or tune ups. and...
There are better options than Spike. It wasn't a great fight for 3G, it isn't for Canelo either.

That comment was just to point out your double standards.

There was no double standard. I don't think you actually grasp what that means.

None of the respectable GGG fans were happy with Vanes, we basically all thought he should cancel the May date and fight someone better. In the same way when Spike was the frontrunner I was also critical as I've never rated Spike. Admittedly in Golovkin's case there is some partial mitigation for being a fight at short notice.

Anyway, if Canelo or GGG were to fight Spike in September that would be far worse, both need to fight top opposition in September to make up for a weak opponent in May (GGG) or failed drug test & no opponent (Canelo).

He desperately wants to believe that facing a fighter on short notice is the same as facing one in 4 months as planned.

I’m not getting in a back and forth with a fanboy who has stated Golovkin who fights guys like Vanes which has led to his stripping of a title and has even abandoned his bread and butter ace card “all the belts” is an ATG. He couldn’t even rule a division that was weak for the longest time but now openly ducks it’s best fighters who are his mandatories because he wants to retire undefeated and not take an L.

The actual double standard of the situation is you give passes to a guy whose resume doesn’t even come close to the guy you’re hating on and on top of this nonsense, this guy with the weaker resume who has done far less is already a shoe in ATG in your opinion. How does any of that make any sense if not a double standard. That only makes sense if you’re a fanboy. I don’t even like Canelo but it’s clear as day he’s better for boxing overall period. He has done more for the sport and he has taken more chances.

If anyone deserves to cherry pick out of him and Golovkin, he has the better case to do so. Golovkin wasn’t even good enough to secure Spike Sullivan and chose Vanes. So your comment about Canelo fighting Spike is a double standard comment when you think Vanes is valid for an ATG fighter in your opinion. Go ahead and play dumb now and throw your typical female jabs but you’re a fanboy with obscure logic.

WTF?!?! Nice crazed 'all over the place' rant.... Even trying to be civil with posters like you, you still turn in to this crap poster. You aren't even talking about specifics here, just generalities... So much for this little experiment. You are simply too much of a bitter ass hole to be taken serious here.

Well it depends, GGG already priced himself out, if Jacobs and Hearn want more money then it may very well be Spike the #6 and #4 ranked middleweight fighter according to the WBC and WBO.
Not a terrible fight for a fighter who isn't even ranked at the moment, not to mention he's been off for one year and had knee surgery.

The hate some have for Canelo has them contradcting themselves with no shame, same for those who love GGG shamelessly. The amount of contradiction, double standards, and hypocrisy is just beyond pathetic and hilarious.

No, I think GBP played their cards as well as they could, and obviously much better than GGG's team. I don't expect GBP to look out for the best interest of GGG, that's GGG's team to do. I fully expect GBP to look out for its best interest and the best interest of their fighters. If GGG felt like he was getting a raw deal, or was being taken for a ride, or "bullied" (lol) then it is up to GGG and is team to do something about it rather than cry about it.

Again, I have only been a huge fan of two cash cows, I was never a HUGE fan of Mayweather, Pacquiao, or even Mike Tyson.

You bring up Canelo's first title fight against Matthew Hatton like its some kind of rare and singular situation. DO YOU know who GGG fought to become a MW champion? Look it up bro, and either give GGG the same or more criticism or stop being a hypocrite when it comes to Canelo and his "supposed" preferential treatment.

That's actually a shame. You really don't care about boxing, you care about your favorite boxers or promoters.

You see, people who love the sport hate this type of bullying. It wasn't right when Don King made guys sign contracts just to face his fighters. It wasn't right when Universum did similar w/ the K bros.

So why are you so accepting of GBP's bullying tactics?

There is no similarity between 3G's title shots and Canelos. 3G had to fight whomever he could to get his. Canelo got his handed to him facing a WW at jrmw.

The problem with most of this is, you guys apply some 'double standard' or 'hypocrisy' claim when it's not even the same situation.

    You're comparing apples to oranges.

GBP pays his fighters opponents very fairly, he also doesn't just match his opponents in-house exclusively, and he doesn't coddle his fighters. What he does is he bargains the best deals for his fighters, makes requests and demands, and in this business just like any business if you don't have a written contract then things may change based on circumstance.

If GGG hadn't been so money hungry he wouldn't have rejected the BJSaunders challenge, or maybe he would have, who knows, but what GGG decides SHOULD have no bearing on what GBP does, but if they allow themselves to get punked that's on them.

I would not argue if the tables were turned. If GBP and Canelo would be foolish enough to halt their career based on a verbal promise, then they have no one to blame but themselves for being such business amateurs.

So it's a yes, you are completely fine with GBP and their bullying tactics. So long as it suits your favorite fighter or promoter I see.

I don't agree with any of that. Nor would I compromise my own morals just because a fave of mine is doing it.

I didn't try to justify anything Shane Mosley did wrong back then. He was a favorite of mine. But he was also a cheat, and I could not allow myself to support him as I once did once that all came out. Same w/ Margarito (Relax CJ... :D ).
