Canelo is a bully and wrong for fighting Khan at 155.
GGG is a brave man and deserves credit for fighting Brook at 160.

Canelo is a coward for asking GGG to a Non-title fight at 155.
GGG is a brave man for requesting to fight Ward at 164.

Canelo is a coward for vacating his WBC title simply because he did not want to fight on WBCs terms.
GGG is a man of integrity and wisdom for allowing himself to be stripped of his IBF title and not allowing them to dictate the terms.

Canelo's first title fight against a fighter from a division below is preferential treatment.
GGG did not get preferential treatment for his first title fight against a no hoper from a division below.

    Yeah, no double standards here.

You may see them as bullying, I see them as doing what is best for their client. No one, and I mean NO ONE is making GGG sell out for money, that decision is exclusively his. Why are you trying to blame GBP for GGG's lack of dignity?

How does saying, 'No, you can't fight in December if you want a rematch", help Canelo? We both know Canelo can make his money regardless of opponent. So, how does GBP saying 3G cannot fight BJ Saunders in December, if he wanted the rematch, actually help Canelo?

You have the gaul to talk about lack of dignity, all the while defending these actions? You care more about Canelo of GBP's finances then you do the betterment, or even fairness, of the sport.

No one said 3G was BRAVE for facing Brook. If you want to keep this type of back and forth civility, I suggest you try to keep it real.

    But lets disect here.

    Canelo versus Khan....PLANNED ahead.
    3G versus Brook.... replacement opponent.

Not the same, as I said.

Non title bout at 155? Where do you even get that from? You think the linear MW champ and the obvious top guy should face of at MW, WELL below the limit mind you, and for a non title fight? Why in the world would that even be a possibility? The WBC even had 3G as the mandatory. And yet, you believe it would have been a non title affair if they met, in the division they BOTH fight in.

You should know however, when Able mentioned Ward at 164, they actually NEVER said anything about a title fight. Another difference there.

Canelo gave up his MW belt to face Liam Smith at 154. 3G got stripped while trying to unify the rest of the belts.

Again, do you see the difference?

That fight came as a result of a replacement. Again, huge difference.

I am glad you posted this. Gave me the easy opp to show just how terrible many of you are with supposed 'double standards' claims.

Again Lance, GBP make say whatever they want, it is up to GGG to be his own person and make his OWN decisions. If he is willing to OBEY Oscar De La Hoya, then its on GGG not GBP. Imagine if Loeffler came out and told Canelo not to fight Jacobs next. lol

Loeffler hasn't done that, nor would he. Look, I get it, you do not care about anyone in boxing but your few faves. You have no cares for any form of fairness in the sport, so long as your faves can boss others around.

    I only keep it real.

Not the same, one opponent had 8 weeks to prepare and had to move up 13 pounds above his fighting weight to fight the biggest puncher at MW, and as a result suffered a possible permanent eye injury.
The other opponent had at the very least 12 weeks to prepare and only moved up 9 pounds above his fighting weight.

The WBA wouldn't even sanction the fight GGG-Brook fight, that says a lot. GGG had the option to postpone or find a top 10 MW, but instead went all the way down to welterweight to find an opponent.

GGG was very clear that he was not going to fight Canelo at a catchweight since he held the WBC MW title, so after Canelo KTFO Amir Khan in the post fight interview he specifically stated that he was challenging GGG to a fight at 155, no titles on the line.

Canelo challenged Cotto in 2013 after the fans kept insisting the two fight, Cotto declined the fight at that time. It wasn't until 2015 that Cotto finally agreed to GBPs petition to fight Canelo, by that time Cotto had KTFO Martinez and Geale at cw fights. Cotto and Canelo fought at 155. After Canelo fought Khan rather than keeping the WBC title hostage he vacated (good on him) and immediately challenged GGG to a non title fight.

They never mentioned anything about a title fight, but were also NOT specific like Canelo was about not fighting for the titles. Also, Ward had already said he would not fight below 168 ever again, and GGG's camp knew that, while on the other hand GGG has repeatedly mentioned since 2012all the way through 2017 that he would fight at 154, but apparently not for Canelo.

What? Canelo specifically stated why he vacated, it had ZERO to do with Liam Smith, come on Lance, lets keep it together here. Canelo said he wasn't going to allow the WBC to dictate the terms of when he fought GGG and how much GGG would have to get paid. SO, again, to avoid the WBC from dictating he dumped the belt (vacated) and CHALLENGED GGG (who said he;d fight at 154) to a Non-title bout at 155.

GGG was WARNED not to fight Vanes Martirosyan, he ended up getting a pass on the condition that he agree to defend his title against Sergyi Drevyanchenko, but Golovkin FAILED to make a commitment and his team stated that they were not going to allow the IBF (and WBC) to dictate the terms on who and when GGG fought someone. There is a HUGE DOUBLE STANDARD there.

Canelo fighting Khan is not good for boxing. Very dangerous for Khan. Not fair fight.
    -Golovkin

GGG then fights Brook. His supporters don't think its bad for boxing.

Canelo challenges GGG to a non-title fight at catchweight of 155. GGG fanatics call Canelo a coward.
GGG will only fight Ward at catchweight of 164. GGG fanatics, he a brave man.

Canelo dumps the WBC title because he feels they are treating him unfairly and says he will not allow them to dictate the terms. GGG fanatics say Canelo is a coward.
GGG gets stripped of the IBF title after his team comes out in public stating that they will not allow them to dictate the terms. GGG fanatics say GGG is a smart man.

And there is more, but this is beating a dead horse. The facts are there, if you want to use the EXCUSES to justify what is practically the same, the god help you.

Isal, you damn well know the difference in those two fights. Khan was specifically picked. And lets not forget his less than sturdy chin being brought up. It was nothing but a money fight.

Brook was a replacement Isal. A replacement, not a sought out opponent. And not a chinny WW either. You think those two scenarios are equal?

How do you defend this kind of crap Isal?? The 155 limit between two MW's is ridiculous! How in the world do you not get it?

And this is supposed to help what? Your insistence that a no title fight at 155 was perfectly acceptable makes NO SENSE. Canelo was STILL the linear MW world champ. Sooner or later, you need to accept that 3G's teram simply do NOT believe in CW's for title fights.

Do you even get that about ALL FANS are against title fights done at a CW? Are you completely in favor of World title fights now being settled at CW's?

They didn't ask for a title fight at 164. That's the fact of the matter.

He chose Smith @ 154 over facing 3G @ 160. That's the fact of the matter as well Isal, regardless of how you spin it.

Getting a pass? On a replacement? OK...whatever that means. Explain what part is the double standard. Just saying those words means nothing.

The fallacy in your argument is that Khan and Brook were on the same level. Khan had been KO'd a couple times before, at lighter weights.

Brook was a career WW, who came in the fight w/ 3G actually heavier.

No one said anything about 3G being brave to challenge Ward at 164. Again, why do you do this ****? Who are you trying to convince? Yourself? I mean, you're an adult FFS, not a mean girl in high school...

Treating him unfairly? Did they apply rules to Canelo that they never have to anyone before in the history of their org?

Cut the crap man. It wasn't about the IBF dictating terms. The stripping was because they were looking at canelo and now BJ. Two fights whch should trump any mandatory requirement based on unification.

They had until a particular date to set a fight w/ Sergiy. That date came and went, hence the stripping.

You can't just make stuff up like this Isal. Makes one wonder just how often you do that.

Again, I clearly showed you the fallacy to your attempted argument or justification of Canelo's moves. And again, I am glad you took the time to wrote this, it allows me to really show where you are off.

You know it's not that simple Isal. And you should understand what a crappy stance that is to do. Why are you so fine with it? Love for GBP or pure hatred of 3G?

You will never realize the hoops non-cash cow fighter have had to endure to get shots. And that's because you've just been a fan of hugely popular cash cows. You'll never get it or understand apparently.

The problem with this post is that it uses some crazy fans to represent the entire Golovkin fanbase. I understand that they are annoying but no one cares about them, they keep getting banned and making new alts.

Let me consider each point one-by-one:

I've never given GGG any credit at all for fighting Brook. Yet Canelo-Khan is worse, simply because Canelo had all the time in the world to choose who he wanted while Brook was a late replacement. In addition, Canelo said he'd use the fight to acclimatize to 160 lb.

I've never praised GGG for wanting Ward to come down to 164 lb. It's perfectly obvious that that request meant GGG did not want the fight then.

I've never praised Golovkin for fighting Vanes and consequently getting stripped of the IBF title. (BTW we were discussing this before and the IBF just confirmed that their apparently harsh decision to strip was based on Golovkin fighting an unapproved opponent.)

About your fourth point, I've never complained about this at all.

I'm surprised @Rumsfield, whom I have a lot of respect for, liked this, when it's misleading. See, I can do the same myself:

Canelo is a brave man if he fights Spike in September
GGG is a coward for trying to fight Spike as a late replacement for May

Canelo is a brave man for moving up a division to take on JCC Jr at 164.5
GGG is a coward for wanting the JCC Jr fight at 168 when JCC Jr was more highly regarded

Canelo is a brave man for offering to fight GGG at 155 when Canelo wanted 156 for Cotto
GGG is a coward for refusing to fight at 155

Canelo is a brave man for fighting Liam Smith
GGG is a coward, all his opponents are worse than Liam Smith (they're not)

Canelo is a brave man for fighting Amir Khan
GGG is a coward for fighting Kell Brook

Canelo is a brave man for fighting clean
GGG is probably juicing and Canelo should insist on strict testing

See? There's about as much truth in it as in what you posted, in that it's only true of the most unreasonable Canelo fans and trolls.

At the end of the day it is best if we try to recognize our own biases. Let's try to avoid spinning facts to "strengthen" one's case, like the two contrasting Spike quotes I pointed out to you earlier, @IsaL. Like all human posters, I too am far from free of bias but I will do my best to listen to and try to understand fair, reasoned arguments.

Jacobs to fight Derevyanchenko if they don't get the split they want against Canelo, per Jacobs manager. WTF?

    Fighters and promoters today are so short sighted and all about instant gratification. Society is turning to **** with all this entitlist thinking and instant gratification. Doesn't Jacobs realize that;

    1. Canelo is still his highest payday.
    2. If he beats Canelo he becomes an instant star and attraction.
    3. He will be the ring and lineal MW champion and will have mad bargaining chips in for the rematch and against other opponents even GGG.

Is it that Jacobs isn't confident? Or is he just short sighted and has the entitlement and instant gratification mindset?

It's all nonsense and you people are believing it.

There is 0.00% chance that Clenelo gets into a ring with Danny Jacobs. Oscar is putting him in with a 6ft, long, fast athletic mover.

GGG pays more and is a better matchup.

It's just a bit of back and forth leading up to the inevitable.

KiwiMan why did GGG give Young Christopher a 1 week deadline if he really wanted the fight? This was a PPV, a big money fight, you know they can take longer to nut out.

We all know the guy who made the fight for Brook was also supposedly trying to make the Eubank fight?

When you consider Brook was supposed to have signed to fight Vargas, Vargas was claiming to have signed weeks before but for some unknown reason the GGG fight was holding it up.

Why was the GGG fight holding it up?
Could it be that they were secretly negotiating the GGG fight for Brook?

Ffs they did sign the GGG fight for Brook, doesn't that sound a little premeditated?

Put all of those factors together and its bloody obvious Brook was always in line for the fight??
