I know I'll be in the minority, but I got Oscar in this one. He's got the power and the chin and would drop Curry late in the fight for good.

Oscar is a great fighter, but prime Curry was better than him in most aspects of the game. I think he would have ko'd Oscar.

Outbox maybe. KO? No way. Wouldnt even be able to knock him down. Oscar at WW was no joke.

If Quartey could knock him down, so could Curry. Curry was also a much better finisher than Quartey. A tko is possible.

WOW this is a pretty even match except the one thing here that seperates them IMO.is their chins , ithink both score early kds and Curry takes a lead going into the mid rounds... But id say ODLH catches him late and scores a ko.

I see Curry outboxing him, he's the much better pure boxer, if Quartey and past prime Whitaker outbox you prime Curry will at least do that. Yes OScar has the better chin but he's not going to pull Curry into any type of dog fight or apply too much intelligent pressure

Oscar stopped inferior fighters. He didn't KO any very good fighters at 147. I respect Oscar, but Curry was better at 147. Curry would get things inside on occasion and dominate there. I think the outfighting would be a wash. I think 9-6ish for Curry.

What are you talking about? Wilfredo Rivera (who was robbed against Sweat pea) CHavez(was still good and world class),Oba Carr(very good fighter) and he kod Fernando Vargas at JM as well as blew out the still very tough Mayorga!! Yey they might not be as good as Curry but all are tougher and all very good ko wins to have on your resume.

Dude, lets be real here. They are very good fighters, but not in Curry's league. And I don't believe old Sweet Pea and Quartey were quite in Curry's league. Who was in Curry's league? Maybe Mosely, a prime Floyd Mayweather. Did he even come close to knocking those guys out?
If you want to throw Chavez under the bus, go ahead. Good win I suppose. But he certainly wan't prime, he didn't get sparked out, and the Chavez fights in know way represent what a Curry fight would be like.
Vargas, Mayorga? Curry was a very skilled defensive fighter. Different fight. The thread title says 147. Curry was vunerable and faded at 154 and I believe Oscar COULD get him there, but that's not what we're talking about.

It would be a close fight, and unless Oscar caught Donald Jun-Sok Hwang style, he loses a close UD over 15, probably like 8-6-1.

Curry could win by dec, Oscar could win by KO.

Curry wouldnt KO Oscar and I doubt Oscar winning a dec... although maybe if he had multiple 10-8 rounds...

At 147 Curry could give a boxing lesson to just about anyone. The fight would have to be messy and ugly for De La Hoya to have a chance.

Ok i hear you.. But i was just responding to your comment about "not knocking out any quality fighters at 147" and the reason i pointed out Vargas,Mayorga were that if he kod top guys at 154 there was nothing wrong with his power at 147 were his punches affected guys even more so .. Also they could have stopped the Quartey fight without any controversy.. And in a 15 round fight (title fights during Currys day)that most certainly would have happened... But i see your point about Curry having good defense, i was only mentioning a ko win for ODLH as a possibility, but he gets thru at some point and if Curry had a weakness (even in his prime) it was that he wasnt the most durable guy, its not as if his chin went fragile over night, it was that everything else including his defensive skills faded, therefore his chin was found to be vulnerable. I can see ODLH eventually getting to even a prime Curry..

Then agains i wont tryand argue this death as i think this is a very close matchup and could most definitely see Curry pulling this out as well.

De la hits has had pretty average showings against men of lesser pedigree (Mosley 1 and quartey). No doubt Curry beats him convincingly.
