De La Hoya v Pacquiao: should we be taking this seriously?

    Well, should we?

Is it an exciting prospect, a Jones v Ruiz style match-up, except with a quality fighter as the bigger man this time? Will it be a thriller?

Or, is this a lame money-making exercise with DLH taking the easier option than fighting Margarito? Should it be permitted to happen? Will it be a blowout for DLH?

    I honestly have no idea!

I'll watch it but really don't want to see it all that bad. I think DLH is too big for PAC....maybe even too skilled. But if PAC were to win that is HUGE. I'd rather see DLH fight MARG!!!! And PAC fight Soto then Valero and call it a GREAT 2008 for Boxing!!!

Not worth watching it, IMO. Pac has been fighting at 130 with just one fight at 135 and Oscar at 154. This is a mismatch on paper and in the ring, imo. There's just money in this fight, no competiton.

I'll watch it if it happens, and it should be exciting. But, it's basically an exhibition fight, so I won't take the outcome too seriously.

I think its just plain wrong. How will delahoya get any respect if he beats down a featherweight. If pacman does a david on the goliathe then hes a legend and delahoya is ruined. This fight maakes no sense and the feeble attempts by delahoya to make it personal are riuning my opinion of him. Fight margarito or cotto or any decent welterweight and get off the pot!

I've met Pacquiao in person, and he's about 5'5. He's way too small for Oscar. Oscar also has a great jab, a great left hook, and even now enough speed to land punches that will really hurt Pacquiao. If the fight happens, Oscar can check hook Pacquiao the way Mayweather check hooked another fighter who can only fight going forwards (Hatton). Pacquiao is better than Hatton and I love Pacquiao, but he can't fight going backwards, and facing a guy like Oscar that he won't be able to hurt, he is in big trouble.

Joke of a fight. Pac has so many more better fights like JMM 3, Campbell, Guzman or Diaz. Screw Oscar for getting in the way of these great matchups.

Oscar should go and stay at 154 for his last fight, he is better at that weight and if he is smart and not wanting to hear all the **** coming from his detractors, he should make a fight with Margarito at 154, where i believe, he would have a much better chance at winning the fight. But this fighting little Pac thing is ridiclous and as a big DLH fan, i will be very dissapointed if he would to go through with this.

No, but if the fight happens I'll watch it anyway.
