De La Hoya vs. Trinidad 2

Let's say the first fight is ruled a draw (I had Oscar by 2)/or Don King doesn't pay off 2 of the 3 judges for Tito.

Thus with a draw........sentiment is crazy and an immediate rematch is ordered.

I know Tito was struggling to cut to 147, but **** it, let's say they go through and agree to an immediate rematch at 147 lbs in the spring of 2000.

Who wins the rematch and why?

Personally, I got Oscar by late TKO.
I think Tito would do a better job in the rematch cutting the ring off.
I also think Oscar would come into the rematch with the sense he needs to fight for 12 rounds, that he can't just outbox Tito and expect to win on the judges scorecards.
Thus, even if Oscar outboxes Tito early, at some point, fireworks would burst and we end up with a classic fight.
I think Oscar's left hook eventually finds Tito's chin late and he finishes Tito.

    What say you?

DLH by UD or TKO, possibly to set up a third match. He clearly was the better fighter. Personally I think the first horrible robbery was an inside job to set up a rematch...which for whatever reason never occured.

De La Hoya v.s. Trinidad was a garbage fight. One of the most disappointed mega fights I have ever watched.

DLH's performance in the championship rounds of the first fight shame him into knocking Tito out.

Toe to toe exchanges with the clearly more skilled DLH would be detrimental to
    Trinand's questionable chin.

Tito won the fight. The reason Oscar ran was because he was scared.

But he didn't win the decision the first time?

Oscar likely wouldn't pack it in like he did the first fight and win a clear decision.

I haven't watched this fight in a while and am tempted to watch the last few rounds maybe 8 or 9 on

Did Oscar run purely out of thinking he had it, which I have never seen a fighter give away more than a round by running with the lead, no fighter just tosses away multiple rounds like that.......

    or

Did Trinidad change something in his attack or land something that created concern for Oscar and made him run to preserve himself to the final bell thinking his lead was in jeopardy of being knocked out if he didn't stand his ground a little and actually box

I scored the fight once and had it a draw so I know I am in the big minority, I don't see any plausible way to score the fight for Trinidad. I guess I gave Trinidad the final four rounds and found 2 that he had a case for early on maybe when the fight was very inactive. I wont really be bothered to watch that fight twice

Oscar would have to be favored. I'm sure after watching the fight, he recognized what he did wrong in the last couple rounds and would ensure it doesn't happen in a rematch.

It could've set up a very nice trilogy.

I think the immediate rematch would have to have been held at 154 - Tito just couldn't make 147 any more. The fact he held that weight much better and Oscar wouldn't have any choice but no fight him in a more aggressive manner, makes me confident Tito would come out on top.

Only Oscar's chin stops me from being confident in a Trinidad knockout.

De La Hoya had a good chin, I actually don't think Trinidad could even knock him out if De la Hoya let him hit him.

That being said De La Hoya by decision.
