Same participants, completely different match. Fighters with different attributes, even. Oscar's whiskers weren't quite so sturdy here, but he was a huge stalker and had a punch like a mule. Floyd had quicksilver legs and a left hook lead that sounded like a bullet, hooking to the head or jabbing to the body. He was like lightning in there. How does this one go?
Mayweather beats Oscar at any weight. Oscar was outboxed throughout his career. Against one of the fastest and most talented boxers at his best weight, at a weight where Oscar was still very green? Wide UD.
I don't agree that DLH was outboxed for his entire career. On the contrary, besides Quartey and arguably Whitaker, I can't really recall anyone outboxing him in his prime. And they'd both be green. I can't argue with the rest of your points, though.
I believe Oscars best weight was lightweight, I know many feel it was junior welter. Anyway at lightweight I feel Oscar would drop Floyd a couple of times en route o a wide UD. At junior lightweight, someone is winning a split decision. Speed advantage to Floyd, jab and power advantage to Oscar.
Oscar was drained and technically underdeveloped. Floyd was probably at his best at 130. Hence, Floyd UD, probably 117-111. Oscar's chances get better the higher you go up weight in a hypothetical vs Floyd, both because his physical advantages and his skills increased as his career progressed and he moved up in weight. Floyd, meanwhile, was a big Junior Lightweight, but did not benefit from moving up in weight the same way Oscar did. In fact, Floyd lost some of his physical prowess as he moved up, and he was forced to change his style more as a result. For what it's worth, I think Floyd beats Oscar at lightweight 116-112 or 115-113. Junior Welterweight is a 50-50 fight. Welterweight, I favor a prime Oscar to take a close fight. The Super Welterweight Oscar gets a close, clear decision. Oscar had the right style and the skills in his prime (1997-1999 Welterweight and 2002-2003 Super Welterweight) to beat Floyd, plus the physical tools to do it.
Give me Oscar at any weight above 130. Too drained here to really make it work with Floyd, who was at his best at this weight.
DLH was green and drained at 130...... Mayrunner wins easy since he dealt with 130 better..... NOTE: I thought DLH held his own in '07 at 154 with Mayrunner and deserved a draw..... MR.BILL
Mayweather UD at any weight, if you can't beat Quartey or Old Whitaker (which Oscar didn't for my money) at your best, you can't beat Mayweather either.
I've watched floyd's career set a couple of times and his sfw run more recently again. My conclusion is I wouldn't favour anyone in the division's history over him. He was pretty much the complete fighter at that weight plus had insane hand and foot speed.
