Rumours say that it will happen the 20th of September of 2008. :admin :nut :admin :admin :tired

    Why not May?

Will Oscar fight someone in May first?

Me thinks so. A win going into the fight, especially against a live opponent in May, adds some luster.

Oscar would not be able to make it to 147/150 catch weight until May and his camp probably realised that when he tried to make it to 154 from Dec 06, Jan 07 until May 07. Then, if it wouldn't be for the WBC ww title, there would not be a good enough reason for Hoya not going for the WBA title and Cotto and for Mayweather to keep his WBC title, fighting without defending it, but I continue to suggest that the WBC shouldn't allow Mayweather to defend it now and retire once again - Sulaiman should work out a deal with team Mayweather so that he makes a voluntary defense and a compulsory defense or no deal.

this is the problem with the WBC.Its a superstar organisation.
they would never dream of making big names make mandatories or earn title shots.
    look at delahoya.

Tito would have to chop a leg off to get below 160 these days. Oscar is scared to fight Tito at 160.

The WBC Commission stripped Shane of the WBC interim title that he won in Feb 07 for not putting it on the line in Nov 07. Mayweather won the title in Nov 06 and defended it once in Dec 07 and he would have to be stripped if he doesn't defend it in Sept 09. Hoya defended the WBC welterweight strap after winning it against Sweet Pea in April 97 against Kamau (June 97), Camacho (Sept. 97), Rivera ( Dec. 97), Charpentier ( June 98 ), JCC ( Sept. 98 ), Quartey ( Feb 99), Carr ( May 99), Trinidad ( Sept. 99) - those are eight title defenses in 2 years and 5 months, very different from Mayweather's 2 title defenses from Nov 06 till Sept 09 ( Hatton and would-be ODLH) regardless of having won the WBC SWW title in between... Let's not play games here.

I hope he does and gets KTFO. As an exsisting thread - "the title for the rematch" showed, about everybody on this board except for the known DLH and PBF huggers is totally disguisted from even a notion of a rematch of these two dancers.

I wouldn't be able to qualify why did the WBC give Mayweather emeritus status in the 154 pound division if he only fought there once or Vitaly Klitschko in the HWT Division if he lost the challenge for Lewis' championship, only won the vacant title against Sanders and made one defense against Danny Williams... Even if I was in condition to qualify it, I wouldn't be stupid enough to do it - you never know who is reading what you are writing here... But thnx man, I like your posts n attitude too.

Mosley? He's 36 years old and recently lost.

Mayweather only needs to fight Cotto (well, Cotto also needs to fight Mayweather). Another interesting fight could be against Williams, but I'd be satisfied if he fights Cotto.
