So after watching Marquez v Pac for the 4th time I still have Marquez winning but that is another thread. It reminded me a little of ODLH v Money in how effective Money was on the counter. May got the bid though how did you score that fight? ODLH v May 10-9 10-9 9-10 10-9 9-10 10-9 9-10 10-9 9-10 9-10 9-10 9-10 113-115
I could have given 8-4 May as well but 9-3 is taking the ****! Post fight interview Oscar said if I wasn't pressing there will be no fight! He's right but. He lost. I'll open up a can of worms here buy if Floyd won that fight what was the difference between this win and Marquez' "win" ?
The HBO agenda machine is the difference, if HBO were pushing an ODL agenda at the time Harold Ledderman would have had it 116-112 for Oscar and that's something you can bet on "let me tell ya Jim, De La Hoya was just being more aggressive and though Mayweather was landing he didn't do enough so i've got it 116-112 De La Hoya"
Agreed Utter bull**** score and I've been working my way through Oscars box set this morning. Big fan! Incidentally I've whacked in Roy Jones disc 11 im now looking at Ruiz v Jones! Billy bonus
Oscar's style isn't a bad one to fight Floyd with, taller man with an ATG jab, but at the end of the day Oscar lacked the ring IQ to adapt, skills, and right hand needed to beat Floyd.
Mayweather by at least 4 rounds. That fight wasn't even that close, tbh. If you look past all the oohs and ahhs and bells and whistles.
WRONG! Ring IQ is what made the fight close. Oscar seriously lacked his normal speed and power of lets say , 1998!
if he has the ring IQ to adapt, why did Floyd take all the rounds or 5 of em in the second half of the fight? even a younger Oscar didn't adapt too well and would exchange rounds with opponents
