When I saw this fight live, I thought for sure Oscar had won. Neither fighter was really hurt in this fight, but it seemed like Oscar was controlling the action, and landing the better punches. I just stumbled across the punchstat numbers for this fight, and the numbers aren't even close. Oscar outlanded Shane in 11 of 12 rounds, and landed more power shot in 7 of 12 rounds. Oscar also landed at least twice as many punches in 5 of 12 rounds. I'm not saying punchstat is everything, but it does give a pretty good indication of how the fight went. However, all three judges as well as many ringside observers had Mosely winning the fight. What am I missing here, was Oscar robbed?

I thought Oscar won, but it seems like this was one of those fights that looked different on tv than it did live.

I thought Oscar clearly won this fight, and even Shane in the interview seemed to feel that boxing is about checks and balances - that sometimes you get a fight you lost and sometimes you lose a fight you won. Shane did not look like a winner that fight. The claims were that Shane landed the harder punches, even though Oscar landed more shots.

The numbers weren't even close. If they're that far off, then they system should be scrapped all together. Regardless, who did you think won the fight?

Oscar won that fight and Mosley was on steroids for that one.

Most feel the same way. It was a terrible decision but it didn't do anything bad for boxing or for either mans career/legacy. It could have helped DLH a bit more but overall the decision for this fight was god awful.

No. I had Oscar winning it, but in no way was it a robbery. DLH made himself look like a total ass with his threats of an FBI investigation.

it was a close fight, mosley worked oscar to the body and was alittle more aggressive, could have gone either way.

It wasn't a robbery but a very poor decison. A robbery is what happened to Emanuel Agustus when he squared off with Courtney Burton in MI. But this was pretty bad to say the least.

Oscar lost that fight as soon as Mosley landed a heavy right in the first which distorted his whole facial and he almost went. After that point, Hoya worked behind the jab but would step back every time Shane loaded to the body. Even Oscar acknowledged in the post-fight interview that there was no point in facing that guy anymore "I can't beat him!"... Sure that Mosley opted out of a 12 million proposal to face Winky for 3 million... Problem is that George Foreman was developing all sorts of conspiracy theories against Bob Arum in Vegas for that 115-113 score ( opposite to 113-115 Harold Lederman) and what was that for?... Oscar split with Arum and would materialize twice that famous line - if you can't beat em join em! Foreman would split up with HBO 2...

This is why I said BewareOfDog was more knowledgeable than you. Your constant attacks on a living legend are totally unneccesary. While I can't stand the fact that Nard works for GBP, he's still a great fighter. Nard has, and always will, command alot of respect in Philly.
