I have no idea. If it doesn't I have a feeling Sky will get this fight. They have a thing about De La Hoya and I can even see them being stupid enough to put it on PPV.
I thought this fight had fallen through. I think Pac can still climb abit in weight upto light welter but above that he does not have the size to match the elite like Williams, Cotto and Marge. Pac would be better off picking up the money in fights with the llightweight guys and maybe Hatton. He has many options but him vs Hoya would be plain wrong, even if Hoya is shot.
Oscar gave a few more % of the split to Pacman to make the fight 65-35 to Oscar now I believe Disgraceful matchup. Pac has only had one fight at 135 for god's sake never mind 147 Oscar needs to retire, he's becoming a real cancer to the sport. Cherry picking fights against the top fighters of all weights, denying us the chance to see these guys fight their real rivals
I'm a huge De La Hoya fan but not even I can see a reasonable arguement for this fight being made. De La Hoya will kick the high holy crap out of Pacman, and me, not being a fully paid up member of the Pacman club, would be happy to see that.
I doubt it will fall under Sentanta's deal with Top Rank. The main promoter gets the rights to the fight and it is up to them who they sell the fight to. This was one of the initial stumbling blocks for the fight, apparently Manny has deal with a certain Phillipines channel and Oscar has one with another. Manny wanted it on his channel but knew that if he did not get the Philipine TV rights, Oscar would choose the channel.
