If theres talk of manny pacciaou coming all the way up 3 or 4 weight divisions to fight De La Hoya, why is there no talk of De La Hoya moving up a weight to fight pavlik? Do you think theres any chance of a Pavlik vs De La Hoya fight and who do you think would win?
Seriously, i really dont think Oscar can win this, especially not now, whenever Felix Sturm grazed Oscar's chin his head snapped back, and you saw what happened when Oscar fought a great MW in Hopkins. Pavlik will maybe stop him imo
Nope, no chance of it happening. Oscar already knows that fighters at 160 are a little too out of his league size-wise so it's never gonna happen. De La Hoya would simply get destroyed by the much bigger Kelly Pavlik.
Pavlik cant go significantly lower,so unlikely. Not to be rude, but its an absurd proposition to be honest, for the reasons the guys above have stated:good
Yeah i know but its just as absurd as pacman vs de la hoya so i thought i'd jus throw it out there lol.
Damn, what kind of catch weight do you figure Kelly could come down to? The man is already a very big middleweight with a huge frame so I doubt he'd be able to drain himself much lower than 159. And even if he were able to drop down a few pounds he'd still be the much bigger man compared to De La Hoya so I'd really see no difference in the outcome. Kelly would still pound on Oscar and knock him the hell out.
Pac going up? DLH going up? Both fights are meaningless. And besides DLH won't ever fight Pavlik . . . he'll be a live punching bag. Have you forgotten that he barely beat Sturm at 154?
Yes but Pac vs Oscar was quickly debunked and dismissed as nonsense,so its not a good comparison. What J.R. said is what would happen anyway.
It would be an incredible fight up until round 6 or 7 when DLH gets ko'd but won't happen because Hoya already did the go up in weight and get ko'd thing. I doubt he'd do it again. So pretty much what everyone else said.
I give Oscar all respect as a boxer, he never ducked anyone...... but Pavlik would starch him, for the reasons mentioned above...
