I think the De La Hoya that fought Mayweather, would beat Alvarez, that fought Trout. De La Hoya stylistically would've been a bad matchup for Alvarez. I think DLH jab gives Alvarez fits all night long, DLH range would be too much for Alvarez.

On the flip side, DLH did lay eggs every now and again like Forbes and Sturm but if it's a 100% dedicated DLH he beats Alvarez.

 

Honestly 2007 Oscar is a tougher fight than 2013 Canelo for Mayweather.
