he did, but he also backed up his talk....unlike others who talk and even though they win, they still dont back up what they say... vargas was a true warrior.....
True, and to be honest, back in the day I wanted Vargas to win. His attitude won me over at the time. But now I always pick against the **** talker. I know you're talking about Floyd when you're talking about **** talkers, but I think Floyd's style relies on his opponents coming at him, (except against Cotto, who is very dangerous), so he tries to make them as pissed off as possible to put them out of their element and force them to come right at him so he can pick them apart on the way in. One day though, if Floyd ever comes back, he like Vargas, will talk **** to the wrong person and they'll beat his ass too.
Vargas hit Hoya with some very good shots, it is not like Oscar gave him a one side beating. It was a great fight though.
Does anyone have links to Vargas doing all the **** talking? I have looked for any of the press conferences but always come up short. The prelude to this fight is almost as memorable as the actual fight from what I hear. I can only compare it to the shittalking Mayorga did.
I never liked Vargas. His **** talking was almost as bad a Mayorga. For those two guys to fight was actually great. I knew both would get out of hand with all the talking. He was always trying to be Oscar's shadow. Trying to beat the same guys as Oscar did and that is including Mayorga where he failed, Mosley failed, Tito failed. He was not an elite fighter and HBO pushed him forwards rapidly. Winning the no mas Campas fight. Getting the Winky gift and who knows if he would have beaten Stephans if the ref did not count him out for a low blow. Well, at least he came out of boxing ahead with money and great investments.
What got me was when Hoya hurt him. Then Mercant was like why isn't he pressing the action. Then all of a sudden left hook and Lampley just went crazy. That was probably his best show. Also great fight
Yeah that happened twice with Merhant. First time, the other after kd when Merhant asked why Hoya wasn't able to take advantage of the other hurt fighter, mid sentence he went down again.
Foreman during the fight: "Oscar is going to have to go back to the days when he had good trainers" Foreman after the fight: "This is a tribute to Alcazar and the other trainers he had"
Thanks, thats exactly what happened, but that was a great fight. HOya broke Vargas down plain and simple :good But I have to admit that left hook was nasty, but the first one he laned on Mayorga was better
