I watched Whitaker/De La Hoya bout in it's entirity for the first time. I've seen hilights and when it was live I listened to it through the scrambled PPV. I scored the fight 114-112 for Whitaker but I would not cry robbery the rounds were very close. Whitaker throw more punches and landed at a higher percentage. De La Hoya landed the more telling blows. I don't think Whitaker was busy enough to clearly win rounds. I thought he still had his defensive abillities and a younger version of Whitaker would have won in a convincing fashion agianst that version of De La Hoya.
I just rewatched the whole fight. They had the fight on youtube for a long time which was cut to show a domination by Whitaker but the whole fight shows it is clearly a draw with Whitaker landed more shots while DLH lands the telling shots. I have it a draw but don't make much of DLH's victory cuz I can see it that way too.
