Oscar should've retired following the Mayorga fight. That would have been a perfect, storybook exit from boxing, and I remember thinking back then that it was his last fight. Mayweather was a good performance that Oscar put on but he wasn't his best and lacked that pop he was known for. Fighting Manny was plain stupid on all accounts. Even if he won he would have gotten no credit, and in losing he actually catapulted Manny to fame he wouldn't have had without destroying Oscar like that.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLziYmanNmU&feature=related[/ame] Check out how fast Oscar was early in his career vs. Ruelas. He bounced and moved so well back then. This was the best version of Oscar I think. And this fight Oscar threw the best left hook of his entire career in that second round.
Chavez 1 and 2- i love how he destroyed chavez in both fights Vargas fight was pretty good too. I like how the fight ended
lol he said ***** street:rofl anyways i remember this fight. Ruelas was supposed to be oscar's first test. He blew up after this win.
his best fight was against ruelas that's where DLH was really dominant nobody thought he'll win that easily.. against Whitaker, Mosley and quartey those fights could've gone either way.. Vargas was shot and Chavez was old.. and against Tito he ran like a biatch and didn't give the fans what they wanted and then used a lame excuse that he wanted to show something different :hat
As much as I don't like Hoya , he's got an amazing resume. Even though he lost many of his big fights (some were robberies or could have gone either way), the amount of big names on his resume is impressive.
While I've heard the term "***** street" for pretty much as long as I've watched boxing, I had to laugh at Bob Sheridan's rendition of the word. He said: "Norton is in Queersville".
