Mexican boxer Moises Calleros, who died 3 months ago, has been given a 4 year ban after he tested positive for cocaine following his defeat to Galal Yafai last year.
The guy most likely died of a heart attack, which very well could have been brought about by his cocaine use. I think that's plenty punishment enough. Although this highlights just out of the touch and detached from reality that UKAD is at the moment, for what it's worth, after they found out he was dead, they deleted it.
The old cocaine - she don’t lie. The “good news” is that sentences will be served concurrently, with time already served in death included/allowed for.
Talk about laying it on thick! He does cocaine, loses his fight, dies, and gets a 4 year ban on top of it! They should at least give him a chance to come back to life!
It's disgraceful how a positive test for cocaine leads to a longer ban than the egregious cheating of Benn and the Fury's etc (not discounting the fact the guy died and they still enforced the ban). It seems the severity of punishment is linked to the offenders ability to threaten bankruptcy to UKAD through legal action; Liam Cameron was another one f***ed over through the same precedent.
