Put it this way, if I had to recommend only one excercise men should do, it would be the Romanian Deadlift.
LOVE Deadlifts. Done correctly, it is quite possiby the absolute best overall move next to the olympic clean.
Deadlifts are great. Lots of muscles involved in the lift so a lot of bang for the buck, but proper technique is important as is loading. Since it is a very tough yet technical lift, I wouldn't tax myself doing either too many reps/sets or too much weight if you are combining it with a boxing workout. Keep the workout short and sweet. Move the weight up if you like but keep the volume from getting too high. You want to get strong but still leave enough energy for your body to recover. Don't max out weight or reps.
Deadlifts rock - you'll see greater gains in strength doing deadlifts than you will in any other exercise (providing you do them correctly). You'll start off only lifting 20 kilos and end up lifting fridges.
right on! :good thems the ones I do - love that feeling of thrusting my chest out at the top of the lift for maximum stretch
i'm not really a big fan, you work the same muscle groups doing movements such as snatch and clean and press, which in my opinion are far superior.
The body adapts to stress the more stress you apply the more it grows to handle the stress. If you are working your cardio work your cardio if you are working for your power work to make power, in this case explosive power.
Im 16 and well i want to do deadlifts but whenever im gonna attempt these cockknockers usually come up to you and say you shouldnt be really doing it youre to young...are they right??
Yeah, deadlifts are the worse exercise to do wrong. If you hurt your back then it'll take a long time to get better. Look on bodybuilding.com for the correct form. But no one is to young to do deadlifts.
