Funny that a meeting this critical was only attended by arum, duboef, moonves, and haymon. Ellerbe wasn't at the big boy table (conference call). Goes to show he's truly just the mouthpiece for haymon and carries no weight.

Now with haymon overtly rooted as part of this negotiation, at what point does he cross the manager and promoter lines? Or does it even matter anymore.

If it was Moonves who fixed it then we know Floyd's camp was the problem.

  3. They're always the problem. They've always been the problem.

What we do know is that Bob Arum is seriously ****ed off that he's had no say whatsoever in the promotion of this fight.

As petty as it is, Mayweather has succeeded in his aim of freezing the bobfather out and that must rankle with Arum.

Good to see seats as low as $1,500.

If Les was involved then he made sure everything was on the up and up. For a corporate juggernaut like CBS to be involved they don't fu☆k around with contractual obligations. They meticulously go through the terms and conditions prior to any signatures. I'm sure lawyers got involved and made sure they were legally in compliance with the original terms to mitigate substantial financial risk.

For anyone who doesn't understand the contract... Mayweather promotions has first say, and Top rank has to agree. If Top Rank doesn't agree, the two try and resolve it. If they can't resolve it, the Moonves makes the final say-so.

Shows you how much trust both sides have in Moonves.

From the ESPN and yahoo articles it says that according to arum, mayweather promotions changed the terms on the contract to sign from the previously agreed upon terms. Mayweather promotions probably tried to use the time crunch to pressure arum into signing the modified agreement.

Arums credibility is obviously a debated issue around here but that's what I got from the articles.

Moonves is kind of a big deal. He got this fight made at the end of the day. Without him there is no way this fight would've pushed through. AL is big in boxing.....Les is has the ear and attention of men with some very deep pockets.

I read in another article that MGM is only taking 28% of the 40% allotted to them, and Haymon made a deal to take the remaining 12% when half of the 12% should go to TR.

That makes perfect sense you dumb****. Moonves has no leverage over Arum. He only has leverage over Floyd. If Moonves was the one who fixed this that means Floyd was the problem.

If it was someone from HBO or Time Warner who had to fix it that would have meant Arum was the problem.

Why are Floyd****s so ****ing stupid about everything from boxing to business?
