    Your embarrassed with Anderson Silva???

    Basketball, if a good defense completely shuts down the other offense...displaying a genious defensive strategy and implementing perfectly, wins the game 90-58. That game will not necessarily be exciting, might actuallly be down right boring...but it would be played by at least one team at the highest level of skill, and would be played the way the sport was meant to be played.

    Baseball, Pitcher pitches a no hitter, the other pitcher throws a 1 hitter and allows one run on an error (pitches a shutout). That is great ****ing baseball, and amazing accomplishments by the pitchers. But the game would be worse than watching paint dry.

    Football, ever watch a great defensivve team play, that has a mediocre offense??? Not much excitement, Say the team with the good defense wins 3-0. You may very well witness defensive football played at the highest level of the sport, but you most likely will not be on the edge of your seat.

    If Tiger woods leads the field by 7 strokes the entire game.....is anyone pulling their hair out or tensing up in anticipation of the outcome? No. But they are still watching the greatest Golfer of all time, possibly putting on his greatest performance of all time.

    Boxing, Hit and not get hit. Floyd Mayweather, enough said.


    Dana White says that MMA is a LEGIT, REAL Professional Sport...yet it seems to me he wants Anderson Silva to get wreckless a bit in order to entertain. If Anderson gets in that octogan and looks to counter, or just looks to do enough to win the fight.....that's life Dana! Nobody is embarrassed by the New England Patriots when they run out the clock at the end of the game to preserve the lead :deal:deal:deal

    I understand your point man, but in the 4 and 5 round, Leites had no fight anymore in him, he was dead tired, no more explosion. Anderson never tried to finish the fight. That's what whos upsetting me the most, he wouldnt have himslef in danger. It's not a serra-gsp situation. Leites was in no condition to land a big powerfull shot. Silva just played with him. If it was against a dangerous opponent, I would have say its okay, but it was against a guy who isnt a top 5 MW in the world who was gassed out, with a leg destroyed and he didnt tried to finish him. That's what whos gonna make him appart from the legend like Wandy or Liddell or Fedor IMHO.

    Oh ok, I only saw the 1st round. My points still stand, but I understand what your saying. I'm still not watching it though, not missing much am I?? :lol:

    I agree with you to a degree but dana should be putting better fighters in with silva i am not sure if cote or leites are even top ten middles.

    seems like you along with the object of your affections are sliding in peoples estimations let alone legitimate standings.

    p4p n0.1 ****off,emelianenko would never have let leites,lutter,cote etc do what they did to silva to him.

    now shut up whining and go meet a member of the opposite sex its much healthier.

    Lol, i think BewareofDawg made some great sporting comparisons to make his point, I didnt see him whining at all, but then a good whiner would probably spot a whine a mile away :)

    Silva is champ, if he wants the other guys to turn up and take his title, he is well within his rights to stand and let them try that, if not, then its a nice easy night for him, like I said somewhere else, its for the pretender to come and show what hes got, the champ has already proved it.

I'm fine with the sport the way it is, as I am all other sports....that was the point of the "thesis" I wrote dummy. It's Dana White and everyone else thats whining about Silva not being exciting. Grow up clown.

    I think it is refreshing for a promoter to knock his own show.When was the last time a boxing promoter apologised for a crap card he put on.Dana is correct and I appreciate his honesty and not bull**** that his fighter had an "off" night.:good

    Dana White is a moron. Let's not forget this is the same guy that said Fedor was not a top ten Heavyweight in the world prior to the Silvia fight.

    The problem in this fight had nothing to do with Silva being too good. He didn't do anything. That was the problem. He had a dead man infront of him for 4 rounds, and he couldn't do anything with him. No, scratch that. He didn't TRY and do anything with him. Supposedly the best fighter on the planet can't do anything with a dead body.

    Fighting is testosterone charged so people want to see skill deliver violence which in turn is entertaining because man is blood thirsty. For example, if boxing fans just wanted to see skill then the amateurs would be huge and the pros wouldn't exist.
