McGrain always harps on about the physcological effects of pressure on a fighter. And he has good reason too. Being stalked by a fighter for round after round after round is mentally draining, as the 'boxer' has to be constantly moving and punching to keep his foe off. If the pressure is applied correctly and effectivly it mostly leads to the boxer having to stand with the stalker and trade blow for blow.

However, some fighters seem to thrive of the mental pressure and can keep their gameplan, whilst being pressed. The fighters that tend to do this are guys who are akin to backing up anyway, and use this as a plan.

What fighters do you feel can handle pressure effectivly? especially the mental aspects of pressure. Also could you suggest ways in which the mental pressure can be dealt with?

I think Ali could handle the pressure well, he certainly hated it, but he didn't crumble mentally.
