thought Byrne put in a great performance last night and was unlucky not to get the nod , showed great footwork,toughness, shot selection and movement fighting at junior middle weight while a natural light welterweight against a fighter who brought ''special'' kell brook to hell and back and he seems to get **** all credit for it most of the talk is of Jones putting in a bad performance,not being that good anyway etc etc.. i say bull**** to that and i honestly think with a full training camp byrne would get the win hope hearn puts him on the undercard of jones-purdy and he gets to fight the winner

A few people who I have spoke to said Jones looked very unmotivated for the fight. Very understandable. This isn't a popular opinion - But I still pick him to KO Purdy and Brook in a rematch.
I think a draw was the right call, Dean got very tired in 4th and let the 4th,5th,6th and 7th slip away but the will power and determination was brilliant in last to snatch a well deserved draw. Rounds 1,2 and 3 he was superb as i said in the other thread..
Delighted for Deano. He hasn't had much luck since coming back from the US. Hopefully he will get some good fights next year. He took a big risk on Saturday. Most people including myself thought he would have been blasted away, but he done his Irish fans proud.
Really enjoyed the fight the 8th round was something else from him. Loved the bit where he landed a left then another you could just see him realising he wasn't going to miss so threw and landed another 3 or 4. Jones didn't look good at all but unmotivated or not I think the damage he done to Kell's nose was a factor in him looking as good as he did. I'd say Kell would beat him handily if they met again.
Hi, I was at the fight and Carson Jones looked very unmotivated, he did come alive in the last half though, but Dean hung in there and it wasn't one sided at all. I did think Carson Jones is a little overrated though, because to me he has looked like a solid domestic level fighter only.
Is this Carson Jones the International fighter of the year we are talking about !!! Byrne did a great job with such short notice. Jones looked terrible. I'd say Purdy is sick he wasnt in the ring with him cause he would have destroyed Jones on that performance.
