Apparently no longer able to boil down to Light Heavy, Francis' last throw of the dice is to campaign at Cruiser, and in so doing, has given up his British LH Title. Although I think it's a step backward in joining Hearn's 'Prizefighter' circus, if he can win it - and on paper he would appear to have a decent chance - how about a match being made with big Enzo Mac later in the year? It's a shame Francis' career has been blighted by injury and personal setbacks,; I hope he can make a few quid and earn a meaningful title before he finally bows out of the sport.
Perhaps. But I think he has a better pedigree than most in there, and should be a little fresher than a few, too. Granted, anything could happen on the night, but all things being equal, I'd favour DF to nick it.
It's not likely Francis will win prizefighter, it takes him a few rounds to get going and while his jab is cracking he doesn't have the movement to turn it into a jab and move boxing exhibition. He was a cracking fighter but the only way he wins this is if the other dudes have nowt left.
a decent possabilty, mickey steeds didnt want to know not long ago. bruce scott.......:think one of my fav fighters but was out of his prime YEARS ago and i just hope he has something left. . simpson hasnt looked good and his chances in a 3 rounder..meh. i think dean has a decent chance but his low workrate and boxing style wont get him past a swarmer. secretly i would put a bit of money on scott. he can bang and has a good workrate also he is a bit awkward a good few assets for a 3 rounder.
I have always liked and rated Francis as a fighter and still believed he could go places up until fairly recently.
after getting belted out by 'buster' Keeton, surely it's the end of the road for Dean. Shame, 'cos I really thought he was the dogs before his shoulder injury.
The wrting was on the wall as soon as a career 168lber couldn't be arsed even getting down to 175 to give himself a realistic chance of resurecting his career.
