I feel they should be riducled for letting go back in after the 3rd. That was a terrible decision to make, especially if you are family. They knew what happened to Simakov, why would you put him back in? Its insanity.
****in hell they cant win. If he'd have fought anyone lesser he'd have been called a paper champ by everyone. If anything he's maybe been matched to easily in the past, but there were plenty questioning kovalev before the fight, e.g. his level of opposistion, his struggle against darnell boone, Clev just weren't good enough and kovalev looks really good. You don't know how good some fighters are sometimes till they jump in the deep end, sometime they sink sometimes they swim.
this always happens with Warwen fighters. I think he must do it on purpose, build a fighter up get the bookies on his side then stick him in with a monster..
I can't say he was going to leave but this is an interesting insight Cleverly made in an interview 24hrs after the fight. Have copied entire question & answer so not to loose its context. You can read into it want you want but to me it seems he already wanted out. QUESTION After the event, there are some saying you've had easy fights and now you've stepped up you've been exposed. That's harsh, isn't it? You've got those wins over Bellew and Murat... CLEVERLY ANSWERS That's it. You look at The Ring magazine top 10 and Kovalev's the third top 10 guy I've fought in The Ring magazine rankings and that takes all the rankings in order, that's Kovalev, Bellew and Murat and I've fought three of them and I'm one of the top 10, too. That's not bad going. In fairness, a lot of people tar me because I'm a Frank ****** fighter, I think I get tarred with that brush and obviously there may have been a few soft defences in there which are no fault of my own. If I had my way, I would have been straight to the unification fights. I wanted Shumenov and Tavoris Cloud as soon as I became world champion but boxing never happens like that. The politics doesn't allow you to make fights like that straight away. It's unfortunate.
Yer that must be way he throw himself in front of a train, cos he read a few comments on a boxing forum. ****in idiot
Listen why can't you let what was a great man in boxing RIP There's some right sickos out there,so respect lads
