Chantel Nydile "Chicanita" Navarro is a gorgeous unbeaten 21 year old from nearby Glendale and brought a large and vocal following. She comes in 5-0 (3) but has yet to step up in class.

Nancy "Chatita" Franco is 36 years old (and looks 63 ) hails from south of the border, and is a former two-time IBF world strawweight champion but now boasts a losing record of 19-23-2.

10-9 Navarro, maintaining distance with her long jab and sending the 1-2 or 3-2 smashing through Franco's guard, even though Franco is shaking "no" as if to say nothing is toucher her. (she is ducking some punches, and taking some glancing off her broad shoulders - but she is also getting hit flush)

Franco waving her left arm out fully straight in concentric circles to swat away Navarro's jab, then slamming a right hand down the open lane. Scores a few times. Wide left hook by Franco in an exchange, grazes.

Franco had a strong first minute of Round 4 but ended with a 30-40 second spell of being sat on the middle rope with Navarro teeing off on her.

They created a WBC "Butterfly Brawl Belt" that looks like a nineties Nickelodeon game show prize.

Navarro explains the meaning behind it, though - apparently this was a charity event for cancer, and the belt has pins with people she personally lost on it. (would have been awkward if she hadn't won and it wound up being Franco wearing it, though )

 

Navarro hopes to compete in the Olympic games in L.A. in 2028 and go for gold.
