We're talking HWs here. Look at your list.. Nobody at the time best Liston like Ali did. Nobody beat Frazier like Foreman did. Nobody beat Vander like Bowe did.
Nobody beat Ali like Frazier did. Nobody beat Patterson like Liston did. These are all guys on the ATG list. Wlad best win was beaten in better fashion and in quicker time by a guy who wouldn't crak a top 50 list.

I know I'm talking heavyweights here.

I just don't see your point being relevant. Formeman beat Frazier better than Ali did. Liston beat Patterson better than Ali did. Yet I still rank him number 1.

Douglas beat Tyson better than Holyfield did. Rahman beat Lewis better than anyone ever would. Sanders beat Wlad better than anyone ever would. Schmelling beat Louis better than anyone ever would. Neither of Douglas, Rahman or Schmelling are top ten level fighters neither.

For me Wlad looked most impressive against Byrd, closely followed by Chagaev. Which performance would you rate as Wlads best?

Im saying top 10 is the top 10. . Fury to me looked better against Wlad and Wilder than Wlad did against Byrd. Iker looked better to me against Byrd.
Joshua looked better against Povetkin than Wlad.

WKs best performances to me were Byrd 1 , McLine and Chaggy. It doesn't take top 20 greats to beat those guys. Maury Harris could beat McClne

Let me add that Busters defeat of Tyson was a great performance and was better than any of Wlads. Tokyo Douglas is undefeated

McCline, I don't even know if I'd list him in my top ten Wald opponents tbh.

Fury might well have a place in the top ten when he retires, I'm excited to see how that pans out.

Busters defeat of Tyson could be argued as the best HW performance full stop tbh. Few looked as good against a prime ATG as buster did that night. I watch the fight every year or so and still get shocked when Buster gets that rhythm going.

Personally i think this list is superb given the criteria favored. You could put forth good arguments for every single position imo and that's the main thing.

It was your opinion i think is stupid but an opinion is subjective. I hope the Wladimir klitschko-Chris Byrd
was a joke (What about the Ibeabuchi-Byrd fight ?) etc...

I've read this post a couple of times now and I honestly don't understand what you are saying or asking.

I don't get why Liston is ranked so highly so often. His resume is very thin and he didn't accomplish that much outside of Patterson destruction. What is his case over more dominant champions or fighters who cleaned out division before becoming a champion?

Tbf, Liston has one of the best pre championship runs imo.

I did and actually his ranking isn't bad at all. Liston being at the end of top 10 is defensible to me. Some posters rank him as high as 3rd though and this is way too much to my taste.

I wouldn't go that far, but it was certainly strong run. Beating Machen, Folley, Williams, Valdes and DeJohn is nice although he still had some weaker wins at that time.

Not many have as good of a run pre title imo.

Especially when you look at the rankings and the context of the sport at the time.
