The paper said the guy he was facing had around 20 amateur fights, so the disparity wasn't that huge. Turning pro with zero amateur fights is usually a shitty idea, though.

Jones supposedly won the first round. You'd think if he was predisposed to head injuries, he'd have incurred some as a football player... Maybe he did, maybe that was the problem. That, a congenital vascular defect, or he got hit with the perfect punch :/ The paper also said he was speaking but "having trouble" after the KO. Went downhill quickly from there...
