Ok, I am intrigued enough at this point to hope for a Manny Pac Victory, even though I must reiterate that Oscar is a big scaredy cat for not taking on the challenge of the Red Hott Antonio Margarito, fresh off his win over Cotto at 147. That is the Fight of Boxing Fans, not Oscar picking on 130 pound opponents who are 5'4 with cowboy boots on. Manny Pacquiao has a few "Aces in the hole" that Oscar doesnt at this point in the game, and it might mean the difference of the fight.

    1. Freddy "The Roachcoach" Roach. Roach has seen Oscar up close and personal. He knows of subtle flaws that we do not. What punches Oscar is more suceptible to, his movement in the ring, what rounds he really tires in, ect, ect. This is all in Manny's favor.

    2. Manny is the KING of the Stamina Athletes. Is there a fighter in history who is more ripped? Able to fight harder as the rounds go on, than Manny Pac? He reminds me of a Muay Thai fighter in the way he is built, and the way he throws and blocks punches. Non-stop, and with fierce aggression. As the fight progresses, after 7, Manny will get stronger and faster, as Oscar begins to tire. This will be a factor in the scoring.

    3. Speed. Oscar has historically, had some problems with fighters who have faster hands and feet. Sugar Shane, and PBF to name 2. Oscar is flat out used to being the faster, slicker man in the ring. When he is not, he has problems.

    4. Manny's underated power. People are only seeing that Manny Pac is the smaller man. BUT he is P4P stronger than Oscar, physically. As far as pure punching power, at 147, I'd say they are about even.

    5. The 147 pound division. I have been telling people for a long time, that Oscar at 147 is going to be one drained Dawn of the Dead looking corpse in there. He looked gaunt last year for the PBF weigh in. He looked like a prisoner from Les Miserables when he fought little Forbes at 150. Now he will be 3 pounds lighter. He supposedly is 145 now. Fine and well, but he is a man who stands 5'11. He really, in all reality is a middleweight, who fights at 154. But 147 is too much weight to lose. It is no longer 1996. In 1996, the Oscar that beat the Ghost of Chavez at jr, welters would probably have beaten this version of Manny Pac. He was that ****ing good. But it is 12 years later. Compare and contrast the 1980 version of Sugar Ray Leonard to the 1992 version, and you'll get my drift.

    5. Support. To a true fighter, the crowd is meaningless. But to an EGOMANIAC like de la Hoya, it means something. He will have his share of Oscarsexuals from East LA who cheer him on. But it wont be like last time, PBF has more Haterz than fans. I know this, because I was at the Weigh in. 6500 people, and maybe 24 PBF fans including myself. I'm surprised I made it out of there without getting jumped, as I was sporting my Team Mayweather Gear. But I was also at the original Manny-Pac-Morales fight, and the Nationalism was CRAZY, those Filipinos revere Pacman like he is a God from the heavens. It will be different this time as well, as a lot of Mexicans are throwing support behind Manny Pac.

Bottom line is that Manny has to fight like Ricky did last night. Keep it inside, dont allow Oscar to establish that jab, and lots of body shots. :deal

Nice analysis. Look forward to hearing you break it down, On The Grind...when your schedule permits of course.

    Kick-ass analysis, JP

The moment's gonna come around the 8th round, when a driven DLH transforms to Golden Boy CEO. Like the ol' saying: 'When you're hip-deep in alligators, it's difficult to remember that your initial objective was to drain the swamp.'

And hope to god that Oscar doesnt land one single power shot, because once that happens the fight is over.

Both Forbes and May have never been stopped and barring the time that Floyd broke his hand and touched it on the canvas without being hit they have not even been knocked down. Not to mention that both are bigger and stronger then Pac.

If I were coaching Pac, I would show him tapes of Duran. He basically has to pop in and out of range -- never be stationary at DLH's distance and counter when DLH reaches for him. Circle to the right away from the DLH jab and left hook. Either way out there or inside, and out again.

Pac's speed of foot is the best thing he has going for him. Also, considering the weight and age of DLH, every punch 'cept a jab should be to the body.

If DLH seems to tire at any point, turn it on. To the body. Again.

We are on the same boat buddy! I think Pac is tooo small for DLH but as the days pass it seems PAC has a chance...small chance indeed but still there is a chance!

manny has to utilize his great speed & footwork to try and survive.
he will need to control his onslaught and not stay stationary. his headmovement will have to improve to avoid oscars vicious jabs.

If Pacquiao fights like Hatton did, he would be open for the left hand counter, Hoya's best shot.

Do I think Pacquiao can take Oscar's best shot? I don't, and that's why I don't think Pacquiao can conceivably win this bout. He will get hit by a left hand at some point during a 12 round fight, and when he does, I don't see any way back.

I think it will take more then just 1 power shot from Oscar to end the fight. He may be bigger but at this stage of his career and at 147 lbs I dont think he will be hitting all that much harder then Manny. Remember the speed of the punches adds to the power, and Manny is one tough sob. I know Oscar for sure has a power advantage, but dont be surprised if Manny takes a few big shots and continues to fight and fight well. I still feel Manny has the edge due to his age, quickness, and the fact that he's so hungry and I believe he wants it more then Oscar (the win that is not the pay check).

LOL @ some comments here.................Pacman , while a exiting fighter has made his entire reputation on getting rid of old shopworn Mexican fighters, some of them had belts before some of the above posters were even born.......and he did not even accomplish a clean sweep . Made look like a fool in the first Marquez fight, barely got by in the sequel while getting wobbled several times, took him ages to blast out the totally shot beyond shot Morales and still losing one in the process, hell, Morales gave him free shots in the 12th while switching southpaw and Manny still could not finish the job. His best win is against Barrera, that;s about it. He had to pound endlessly on Diaz ............and the list goes on and on.

Manny is T A I L E R M A D E for Hoya, a agressive brawler who comes straight at you. Mayoraga, while clearly not in the same class as Pacman, has never been accused to have a bad chin and look what Oscar did to him in the first round, he never recovered from it.

Manny is no defense wizzard and no way in hell is he swallowing Hoyas power punches and keeps on going..............why do you think Hoya cherry picked him for his farewell fight ? To Loose ? LOL.

BTW, weightdrained will not be a issue, Oscar does not have to find or chase Manny, like he had to do in the Mayweather or Forbes fights, Manny is going to accommodate him nicely for coming right at him.
