Decent Bellator card tonight with Machida v Sonnen and Rory Mcdonald v Neiman Gracie title fight

Chael is good at promoting and trash talking, but everyone and their mama knows Chael is shot to pieces and just talking ****. When the old Chael did it, it meant something because he was good at trash talking and good at fighting. Even though Chael was doing those things for promotional reasons/getting in opponents head, I'm sure he believed a lot of the trash talk he said, now I feel like Chael is just spouting nonsense.

Machida is well past it himself and at a similar stage. So this fight isnt terrible matchmaking. Taking their declines into account Machida always ate guys like Chael for breakfast so this one probably won't be too far off from how a fight between the two would have gone 6-8 years ago.

I agree it isn't terrible. They're matching up all the old fighters up, but Chael is definitely the most shot out of them all. Dude needs to call it quits. Obviously how your body looks doesn't determine if you can fight, but Chael was ****ing ripped in his prime, look at his body now. Dude clearly spends more time drinking beers than actually training.

 

6 months later, Chael is going to be matched up with another old fart and he's going to do his usually schtick.

Yeah Machida was still good enough to fight in the UFC as a fringe contender. He's a shell of his former self but not totally useless as a fighter. Compared to the average guy he's still pretty good.
