    One of my favs...

I love this video!!! Cracks me up everytime. Augustus is the oddest, most unconventional fighter I have ever seen. Hilarious watching him dance in the ring, yet still put up a fight just about every night out. Always wondered how good he would have been if he took it all serious.

    Ishe Smith

In my eyes he is still undefeated, I had him ahead against Mora and Powell and had the Julio fight a draw. But hes an idiot for choosing to sign with GBP and not stay with his contender contract. I expect him to lose convincingly for the 1st time against Jacobs.

Emmanuel Augustus had a few chances to show his talents, a few BIG opportunities, and managed to get his ass kicked vs. Kid Diamond and Floyd Mayweather. Had he even managed to be more competitive, he'd have had a better career. But that stretch he had after he was robbed vs Burton earns his a slot as a contender for this title.

Ishe Smith gets a shout out. Thing is, the guy just doesnt punch enough. Mora outworked him, so did Powell and Julio. Sucks for him, but he COULD have clearly won every fight he's had and he didn't throw enough. Shame.

I have to say my vote goes to Juan Manuel Marquez. His big breaks came after the man had slogged his whole way through tough fight after tough fight. He was brought in to lose to Manny Pacquiao and schooled the sports young phenom, only to have bad management and circumstance banish him again. He survives an awful decision to knock his way back to contention and put it all together vs. Barrera, finally slugging his way out of the man's shadow, and arguably beating the sports best fighter on his terms, before battering his way to the top of the lightweight hill.

He's one of the best stories in boxing. He earned everything he got by putting his nose to the grindstone. A true, dedicated veteran.

Shout out to Glen Johnson for the same reasons.

I think you misunderstood the point of the original question. It said "DECENT" fighter...Marquez and Johnson are definately above the level of DECENT!!!

Agreed. I feel like if he had been picked up by a big promoter, then protected and developed properly, he could have been a good contender rather than the journeyman opponent he is today.

Another guy who could have been much better with the right kind of luck is Ossie Duran. Obviously I haven't seen all of his fights, but the only fight he lost on my cards was against James Kirkland, and he gave Kirkland hell for a while, doing much better against him than anyone else did. I actually thought Duran earned a draw with David Lopez in his last fight, and while he's not shifty enough to be great, there's no reason he couldn't have been a strong contender as well, if he could train full time and quit his day job.
