I subscribed to Boxnation last month because I'm a boxing freak, and I watch anything that's on (it's on now in the background, I have no idea who's fighting, I'm just enjoying the ride). It makes sense to buy Boxnation (I'm not one of their employees trying to sell it by the way!!!!) because as well as loads of domestic stuff you won't find anywhere else other than a dealer you get international stuff that you won't get on Sky or C5...and it gets repeated lots, so if you miss it first time out you catch it later. For £2.50 a week it's a steal. I spend that on Sunday newspapers each week, for ****''s sake.

Like I said in my post above, just make sure - if the Haye fight is all you want - you get your subs on June 16th to take you to July 16th (encompassing 15th in case the 14th fight night runs into Sunday morning, delays, if you haven't got the 15th included in your month they'll cut you off midnight 14th, you might miss a few rounds if it runs way late for some reason, play it safe and get the extra day if that fight's all you want). Whenever you do subscribe (my subscription is roll-over, it just comes out of my bank and then gets paid each month automatically - I think this is the only way you can do it, then you have to tell them when you want to stop)...whenever you do subscribe, use your head, and get it in at least a week before the 14th...if not now, and enjoy some good scraps - two world title fights on there tonight - I'll catch reruns tomorrow or Monday because I'm out later.

Just my two cents guys and girls...

I agree mate. I've been watching Boxnation since it went on air (freeview) and then I subscribed on day one, because I love boxing and want to see as much of it as possible.

I can understand the casual viewer signing up for the one fight or even the one month but for the amount it costs I just don't see how anybody who loves boxing cannot see it's good value and be subscribed permantly. Yes there have been a few slow weeks and they have been disappointing, but to be honest last weekends show was easily worth the months payment alone.

Ok, I'll stop going on because I promised to tone down on my championing of the channel (I have been better, honest!). :bbb

M3, Mike Alvarado - Mauricio fight on BN at 2.30. That's worth the subs fee alone....

But, yes, I agree with your sentiments. Anyone other than a casual needs this channel. My subs will keep rolling over, let's hope this channel doesn't go the same way as Setanta. The only channel I won't pay for is Sky, simply because I hate Murdoch. My Dad has Sky sports etc, he records me any boxing to a DVD.

My only problem with my current set up with BN is that I can't get any sound when I record from it to my DVD recorder, pictues, but no sound...any techkies know why?

Do you record straight to the DVD recorder, or onto a SKY+ type box first then off of that onto the recorder?

Straight to DVD. I only have a normal Sky box (as a platform to get BN). My Dad always Sky+ the fights then replays them with his DVD recorder set to AV whatever his Sky is.

I can record Freeview (through my DVD recorder) and get sound and pics, but when I try record from my Sky box to my DVD recorder I get no sound.

    spec -
    Panasonic Viera TV
    PACE sky box
    LG DVD recorder

Nothing flash, I don't care for flash...

    Strange mate......:think

I have a similar set up; LG DVD recorder, but an AMSTRAD Sky+ box......

Simply have the Sky+ set up to the LG through AV2, just via scart lead, no problems.

Can't think it's anything with your scart because you can record freeview stuff.

I'm a bit stumped! Anyone else on here help?!......:think

Is Haye v Chisora a PPV event on top of the subscription?

You may also be able to try connecting with an aerial lead. Sky boxes can feed to a 2nd TV through an aerial lead, so presumably it could be recorded that way.

No, it will just be part of the ordinary coverage. They may PPV it online.
