Basically looking for 16oz gloves for only western boxing. I've heard good things about both companies and, given they are the same price at $75 (I know BGV1s aren't usually $75 but I got connections:yep), which one would you buy?

I am opting for maximum wrist support since I have a relatively weak wrist. I also have small hands so I am looking for a smaller hand compartment.

Oh and here are the pics of the respective gloves,

    Thanks.

P.S. I am not planning on using either for competition (obviously). I may use it on the bag sometimes but mostly for sparring.

Not used either of those personally (I've used Rival RB1 Ultra Bag Gloves and currently use Rival RB10 d3o Bag Gloves and they're both pretty good, not amazing wrist support on the former though) but I've heard that kickboxing gloves like Fairtex and Hayabusa are really, really hard and suck bad for your sparring partners.

Are the Rival RSV2 sparring gloves out of your price range? They're £80 on Amazon ([ame]http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rival-Boxing-RS2V-Sparring-Gloves/dp/B005SB5C7W[/ame]), perhaps better elsewhere also - I've heard great things about the wrist support and the gloves in general, think they're my next purchase.

I got the Rival rb1s and I got those Fairtex gloves as well. The Fairtex bgv1s aren't ideal for your sparring partners because they are meant for bag work, and because of their smaller size, they don't protect well in sparring. They are nice on the heavy bag though. I would go with the Rivals for sparring, but wouldn't use them for bag work.

I have Fairtex gloves, not that model though. They are CLASS... but they also take some breaking in. The quality on the glove is top notch... you can feel the quality immediatley.

Like I said though, they are quite hard beneath the leather so get cracking some bags to soften them up. Expect some sore hands, but beautiful gloves.
