Kerry Kayes Interview: Training Boxing Welterweight Ricky Hatton!

Pretty interesting stuff, I didn't know that world class elites take so many supplements!

Bodybuilding.com interviewed other pro boxers, too. I've noticed that the boxers that never became world champ, and/or never made it as far as someone like Hatton, took little supplements. The most they would take were Protein and/or multivitamin supplements. Some don't take supplements at all.

Then you look at Hatton's nutrition, with all the supplements he takes. I'm sure most or all top athletes take all kinds of supplements. Competitors who don't are probably putting themself at a disadvantage when it comes to competing against the top guys who most likely use supplements.

How many of you in here use supplements, and what kind?

Ive read about this before and Hattons nutrion and strength coach Kerry Kayes was basically saying the same nutrion can be obtained through these supplements but with less calories which allowed Hatton to lose a lot of weight.

Now obviously pre camp Hatton is a real fatty, so whether others will need to follow the same sort of programme I dont know.

Ricky would have to take those supplements to get down to the weight safely and be hydrated and strong.

You've only got to look at Ricky from the Mayweather fight through to the Paulie and Pac fights when he wasn't working with Kayes, and the difference is massive.

He's still physically strong, but he does look a lot more drawn and generally weaker.

the first article looks like it has implanted subliminal ads into the article about CNP products. In fact, it mentions CNP product name 13 times in this article and has 4 direct links to the main CNP website where you can purchase the brand. This article appears to be a little fishy.

sorry but that diet is ridiculous, it probably did more harm to hatton than good especially at the pace he trained, supplements are called that for a reason.

none of the articles mentioned how ricky hatton uses sweat bags to lose weight. in each of the three articles it has a picture of ricky in the gym with a sweat bag. correct me if i'm wrong but a sweat bag is pretty significant weight loss technique. in addition to my other post, this other reason is why i think these articles were only written to advertise supplements.

He made it to the top despite his diet, not thanks to it.

Ricky Hatton against Floyd Mayweather was in his best shape EVER..!! EVER..!! There is nothing wrong with supplements, Hatton was eating good food and supplementing his diet with the right things.

Hatton in my opinion was always a good athlete. He just abused his physical talented inbetween his fights, thats all..!!

hattons diet during training camp with kerry kayes is strictly supplements, no food.
