I upset the boxing world by beating a ring icon. At my death my home at a different state from my birth, is now still occupied, and is designated as a
Historic Site. Who was I ?

    James J. Corbett

Cultural Medallion sites in Queens include James J. Corbett's residence at 221-04 Corbett Road.

Yes of course Henry. I posted this thread before, but it bears repeating to all new posters. Many years ago I walked by an old house with a sign in front of it. I stopped and read that this "was the home of James J Corbett, heavyweight champion of the world". I being alone, and a lover of boxing history, felt awe, thinking of old Corbett, and Fitz, and Jim Jeffries, and those long ago times. The house is occupied and is now deemed an Historic Site today...:good
