I love Cuckoo's Nest, but Jaws is my all time favorite movie.... ever, so it kind of sticks in my craw. Titanic they made the right call on, As Good As It Gets was okay but nothing special, definitely not more of an accomplishment than Titanic, nor was LA Confidential, Good Will Hunting, both films are highly overrated IMO.

    Tl;dr

But I would say I like all types of fighters. You get fighters of all styles who are good to watch and those who are not. Just because you're offensive doesn't make you better to watch than Mayweather, as an example. I don't think it's snobbery to enjoy watching someone dominate in all aspects of the scoring in a boxing match.

The scene in which he is draped in the stars and stripes in the chair watching Dicaprio.... Mesmerizing. Unbelievable on screen presence he bossed that film. His accent & mannerisms! Greatest english actor since Olivier..

    Wasn't so keen on Lincoln.

What has to be put into consideration, is that the movies are rated by factors such as their production value, political views or genre bias, and that's why there are winners like Gladiator, Spotlight or A Beautiful Mind, which had stiff acting but CGI ahead of its time, boring direction or were simply put the inferior film.
As an European who has to get up at the crack of the dawn to watch a fight, it's easy for me to root for fighters whose style doesn't put me back to sleep. At the same time I have to admit that Ward has got enough 'production value' in his fights to interest me, as I don't think he's as dirty and boring figher as he's described by many here. There is no defending the snorefests that the Charlos or Lara are putting, though.

I see a lot of love for Malick's movies here

To be fair to the Charlos, Jermall's fights have been fairly entertaining-especially the fight with Trout. Jermell is less exciting, but his fight with Jackson was intriguing, and had an unexpected ending.

Incidentally, I thought Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was a far more enjoyable film than Gladiator- but I'm fan of that style of cinema.

Skimmed through and stopped reading after putting ATG best fighter of the 90s Whitaker with those other guys like Vasquez and Lara.

Might as well put Mike Tyson and Antonio Margarito in the same sentence when comparing offensive fighters.
