Admittedly I am of the opinion real men weigh at least 126lbs, and nobody wants to see midgets fight but....... How the F can Chocolatito be a 4 weight world champ 105-108-112-115, FFS these are pathetic jumps, the average bloke would **** 3lbs. Boxing divisions need a real shake up, we have way too many weight classes at the lower end and then at the top we have 25lbs+ jumps
Well, boxing is a sport, and the skill level in men doesn't really decrease with size. I have no problem with watching Chocolatito. Of course, you are not gonna be calling these little guys the baddest men on the planet any time soon.
Since those little boogers beat the living crap out of each other, no. They should appeal to every casual fan on the planet.
James5000 thinks he's far too good to watch little guys, he views them as inferior because they are vertically challenged, that's pretty much the definition of a snob.
TBH I think people overrate lower weight boxers to be trendy and snobsters. You can look back to 2014 before Chocolatito was p4p and the cool thing to follow, where I was constantly prasied him and said he was one of my favorite boxers. Inoue also one of my favorites, but if Inoue and Chocolatito were the same weight/height as rigo would they even be remotely competitive? I don't think they would.
My roommate in college was the one who got me into boxing. I got home one day and he told me while I'd been in class he'd been watching a bantamweight fight. I asked him if they rode heavyweights into the ring like little jockeys. He said actually it was pretty good. That was the first I ever heard of Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.
I find the fights quite entertaining. I prefer heavyweights though. Even if the fights look bad, we know the fighters can beat the smaller ones. Anything below heavyweight is simply for fighters who aren't GOOD enough to hang in an open weight class. Weight classes are an oddity really. Imagine if the Olympic high jump had height classes, so if you stand 5 feet tall you can win a gold medal in the high jump. Maybe basketball could follow that example too, have leagues for short men. Or if the NFL or Rugby had weight classes, let's have teams full of small guys, featherweights or bantams ....
100% agree. Every division should have at least 10 pounds between then. This is where the UFC gets it right. 4 division titles is a joke for 10 pounds. That's why I don't think he's really #1 on mythical P4P list. Could Gonzales survive a stiff jab from Joshua or Wlad?
