I'm not an Amir Khan fan,but it gets annoying how people jump to judge Khan b/c of getting KO in the 1st round...for example,JC Gomez got KO by Diaz in the 1st round(Diaz!!)and then go and take punches by McCall(twice),Virchis,Samil, etc...(all them hit harder than Diaz)...give the kid a break,he is young and talented, maybe he does have a weak chin but if he improves defense and keeps pressure and good conditioning may get a shot at a title.I'm not counting him out against MAB,i think MAB is getting old.
I agree Khan is very talented, seriously fast as **** and always fun to watch BUT it's not like he was just KO'd by Breidis. He's been hurt more than once and was dangerously close to getting stopped by Limond. If he rematched Breidis the same **** woudl happen again. He'll get KO'd again eventually. There are loads of fighter's who would, not could, KO Khan.
his major enemy right now is the psychologic factor of taking a punch, just elected a very tough rival to prove himself...if he survives Barrera will jump him again for the title.
Are you really comparing one of the best Cruiserweights in history that went 36-0 and moved up to heavyweight and got caught by a big punch and never even went down to a snot nosed prospect that has shown on NUMEROUS occasions to have a terrible chin being dropped by feather fisted fighters??? Did you really just do that?? Anyone can get "caught" Khan just has a glass jaw of the highest caliber.
Man, no. Khan was knocked down for a TEN count against Willie Limond who has very little power to speak of. He was fortunate the ref bailed him out on this occasion. He was knocked to the canvas by what can only be described as a cuffing shot by an extremely old, above his best weight Michael Gomez. He was also writhing around the ring in agony from body shots in this fight. He's just fragile. Upstairs and down.
He desperately need a defense... but not of this kind. If you are not going to have a good defense you better have a chin: <-----
Yanqui Diaz isn't actually that bad a fighter. But regardless, Gomez was well under-prepared for that fight, and caught cold. Gomez always wasn't knocked down by a shot Michael Gomez, put on ***** street by relatively feather fisted Wille Limond, or knocked down by Rachid Drilzane, a guy with no stoppage wins whatsoever. And this was at 140, where people say Khan's chin would be better.
