I just need advide/tips on defence. For example... best thing to do under pressure ... should i keep my head moving side to side? Please give me tips on defence its my weak point. And what training to do to improve it. Thnx
You just need to learn some basic defensive moves. Slipping, moving your head side to side, parrying. Easier said then done, just work on a few basic things and try to get them doown and keep adding the others.
when you cover up in a basic defensive pose, say if your on the ropes, make sure you crouch a little to make it harder for your opponent to connect to the body.. but not so much that you can't see his gloves. it's a good one believe me also learn to slip and parry and mix it up
the best defensive tactics are the most simple: hands up, head down and eyes on your opponent at all times. beginners like to turn away when being punched. When you really watch your opponent you can respond to his punches quicker. also, just instinctively keeping my hands up has saved me from taking some good hits. drill the fundamentals.
Shell up under extreme pressure, look for a counter down the middle straights, or uppercut. Then pivot out if you are stuck on the ropes..

well the best show of defence are the guys who rnt defencive boxers guys like nigel benn when he was hurt kept his guard up ducked low with a wide stance to get the full effect he was hard to hit becuase he made you miss he gave you a target which you fire at then it dispears. i like winky wrights defence he keeps his guard up at all times uses a jab to keep away and rols with the shots at the same time. reason every shot will slip
One thing I haven't heard mentioned that helps me is to stay calm under fire. Being relaxed and calm helps you see the punches coming. Work on keeping your hands up, chin down, staying calm and collected while watching your oppenent at all times. Know your distance. When you slip, duck, or catch a punch your eyes should still be on your oppenent.
