"24-year-old Ricky Hatton is a high volume puncher who attacks his opponents in disruptive fashion, forcing them to adapt to him instead of focusing on their own fight plans. His energy is relentless."

Sam Soliman vs Winky Wright is a good example of this not being true.
I think it's just a matter of a better fighter being a defensive fighter's achilles heel.

LOL mosley was never a volume puncher. He is a precision puncher and more to the counter punching side of it. He doesn't wing away 90plus punches per round and hasn't at any time in his career.

as with all things, it depends on the quality of the volume puncher in question and the quality of the defensive fighter in question

pac's advantage against clottey wasn't only the volume of the punches, it was the speed of the punches, the angles of the punches and the power of the punches. so while the TS statement makes sense, it's still an oversimplification...

THe Philly shell is not the truttle shell. The philly shell alows for counter punching while the turttle shell keeps the hands pined down. Yes he will have to adjust to Pacquiao being a southpaw. However his record shows that he can adjust to pretty much any style including southpaws.

Volume punchers suffer when somebody knows how to control the pace (Pavlik/Hopkins).

Whether or not PBF can pull that off against somebody with Pacquiao's footspeed remains to be seen.

    This is pretty basic stuff

    Boxer > Power Puncher

    Pressure fighter > Boxer

    Power Puncher > Pressure fighter

at it's most basic I'd agree, but when it comes to elite fighters, normally you get a combination of styles and it's rarely as simple as this

Like Pac, he can apply relentless pressure but at same time, his punches pack some good power plus his most devastating shots of late have been counter punches....

Pac is a boxer/puncher, its the best style in my opinion

But you can see how pac's lack of pressure fighting skill hurts him in some situations.

Ala cotto, once cotto felt pac's power, and how well pac was able to counter him, he didnt want to throw punches more.... So Pac had to pressure him, and you can tell Pac was a bit out of his element

Same with the clottey fight, Clottey coverd up because he knew he would get catch devestating counters from Pac if he punched. If Pac had better pressure fighting skills, he would have closed the show

In order to beat mayweather, pac will have to work on his pressure fighting skills

No he's not he's just been more offencive in his recent fights. The both of them are great offencive fighters and have every punch in the book difference is Mayweather is faster and that allows him to throw very effective lead right hands and left hooks which Marquez cant.
