JMM will be and all-time great, 95% of those other fighters for Sweet-pea aren't **** and will not be remembered...oh my bad they aren't remembered... And my list was compared to wins, Pernell lost to Hoya, Chavez and Trinidad that's why I didn't add them, just cause you barely lost to the best doesn't make you the best, next time read more carefully...
Check this out. A past prime Whitaker gave a prime Oscar a life and death fight. A shot Oscar gave Floyd a tough fight.
Here's what you need to do: watch pea vs ramirez, nelson, chavez, mcgirt, vasquez and oscar. Then you need to do your homework into the names you have no idea about. Research your argument before making it and you'll realise why we think you're just trolling right now.
Good point. I do agree pea was more effective and got hit less. I think the layers of PBF's Defense is very impressive.
Pea. Even at the drugged up twilight of his career he was making future HOFers look bad. Mayweather's def is more on par with Benitez.
Stop saying he lost to Chavez, he got a ****ing draw and it's hailed as one of the biggest robberies in the history of the sport. This content is protected
They're both lovely to watch. From an aesthetic perspective, I prefer Whitaker's defence, because it seems more fluid, creative and spontaneous. At points it's like Whitaker's entertaining himself as well as the audience -- he likes to enjoy himself while he boxes, and you can really see that coming through. Floyd, on the other hand, only really cares about winning, and his style reflects that -- very effective, very business-like, only concerned with getting the job done as well as possible. Whitaker's signature was his deep knee squats and elastic upper body movement, while Floyd's is his shoulder-roll. In terms of offence, I might prefer Floyd, mainly because his shots looks so damned crisp and compact. His straight right is like an arrow. Whitaker had a better jab, though, and he also threw more shots and maintained a high workrate, which makes his defence even more impressive than it appears.
It's pretty damn close... not even worth arguing about IMO. You have your opinion and that's that. That's all it is in the end -- your opinion. That being said I think Whitaker edges him very slightly on defense, but it's hard to say for sure.
