Go ahead and name the sport's greatest defensive specialists who had chins of steel...who even if an errant bomb got through..could take it. You can start with the guy in my avatar, and the guy who was once in my av for the longest time, hint, hint....
Thought about Pastrano before I saw it was you who posted,Red.He boxed in GB a lot and was well outweighed in,Ithink, all but two.Dont think he was floored in any.As far as I know, only one to stop him was Torres, when he probably past it. One more I can think of was Joey ArcherIMO not as classy to watch as Pastrano, but cant remember him being stopped by any of the hitters he faced. British wise,Ken Buchanan, cant remember many knockdowns for him either.
Bull****. Young is a legend in the classic section of ESB.:deal How the hell did that happen?:huh MR.BILL:hat
Canto is a good pick, took some heavy shots from puncher of death and destruction Avelar, without much effect. Whitaker and Toney as well. Starling had a good chin, but the Molinares KO was embarassing and i've never really bought he was relaxed and not expecting a shot because the bell had rung.He got creamed in the middle of an exchange which just happened to take place during the bell.Same outcome if it happens 20 seconds earlier.
Floyd Patterson had an iron chin. It had to be iron as many times as it hit the canvas and stayed in one piece.
