So this board is all about one fighter ducking another. It reminds me of 6th grade girls actually. Anyhow, what is your definition of ducking? Ex) I'm 18-0 and starting to fight the big dogs and make my way to the title fights. If I chose to not fight the champ (let's say Klitschko) right now because I feel as if I am not experienced enough yet, is that a duck in your eyes? Personally, I wouldn't view it as one. I view a duck as an in comparison with your caliber, you refuse the fight or throw around BS excuses. Like if I am already a champion and then I refuse to fight Klitschko, I think that would be a duck. I just noticed a lot of guys bringing back stories of Golovkin, Wilder, Canelo, etc. when they weren't on the elite level against the elite competition. Not a fanboy of any of them, just come to mind.
It's hard to define as context and the situation is important... I have a good example of a duck but will get harassed for it. When this happened everyone called it a duck irrespective of what that fighter then went onto achieve.
David Haye is the best example. Calls out the Klitschkos for three years. Ducks them. Is supposed to fight Manuel Charr. Ducks him. Gets a chance against Vitali. Ducks him. Is supposed to fight Fury, ducks him, twice. Still, big mouthed and think he's a boxing god, people on ESB make him into one either.
Its the perspective aspect of Fighters supposed ducking that many (so called) boxing fans can not comprehend. Just because Fighter A calls out Fighter B, and Fighter B says no, Fighter B may not be ducking...Fighter B may have negotiations on going with another Fighter. Or Fighter A may say he wants certain stipulations that Fighter B does not agree too, it does not mean Fighter A or Fighter B is ducking...boxing is a business, and that can be good or bad, depending on your perspective.
