Ok, let's discuss his career after a disappointing loss to boxrec #86 Mario Abel Cazares who has never scored a win against decent opponent previously (Actually he had only one win over guy with winning record - 9-8-1).

Was he ever a world class? (in my opinion he never was even close to that, having lost all fights against elite opponents clearly).

Is he currently a gatekeeper? A jorneyman?

What were you expecting from him at the start of his career?

He’s an absolute disgrace and his career is a train wreck.
He was never in it to achieve something, has no idea what it means to put his heart into something and simply only ever got into the ring to get some money off of his dads name.

He’s an entry level journeyman with a name. Nothing more.

He was a tank at MW but that´s it.
He performed really well against Jacobs but slowed down and then found a way out. He has some skills but mostly relies on his physical attributes, which would be fine and server him well, if it weren´t for the fact that he is a LHW now.
At SMW, a weak division, Chavez could have some success as he is still a big, big guy. But he lacks the dedication to make the weight and his lack of heart would probably let him down even at 168.

I think he is mentally just shot. At 160 he would grind until he fight was over. Now he just gives up.

Btw, Chavez Jr. started his career at 130 :D

His last fight was clearly his dad trying to salvage future payday for him and he blew it. He is now viewed as a nobody. After his last fight even his dad loyal follower will distance from him. Cries and whines when he is getting outbox.
