Glass Jaws are a part of boxing. When you get brutally KOed by a feather fisted opponent you have a Glass Jaw. Fighters like Khan, Litzau, Fraudley, Roy Jones Jr. etc. that can't even take the punches of feather fisted fighters have Glass Jaws. There are many dimensions to the Glass Jaw discussion this being just one of them.
Audley Harrison does not have a glass jaw. I am his biggest hater on ESB - and there is plenty of competition..... but his chin is poor at worst - I'd say questionable rather than poor. Certainly not glass. The punch Sprott hit him with wouldn't have KO'd anybody, but it was certainly dragged up from his bootlaces and would stop most heavies that are two levels below world class. A guy like Audley, probably four or five levels below at the time.... goodnight :hi:
Ahh, another "that punch would have KOed anybody" guy. No, that punch would not have KOed anyone but it sure as hell sparked Glass Jaw Fraudley. Do you people realize how stupid you sound when you claim a punch would have KOed anyone? Sprott has fought many fights and that punch KOed Audley not anyone else.
Well, Margarito's chin sure ain't made out of hard plaster as many thought. That's for sure. Of course, that's not to say he doesn't use plaster at all.
I said Margacheato's chin was never Iron and that after that beating by Mosley his Chin very well could never be the same. It has happened to many fighters before. Mosley could have shattered Margarito's Chin for good. We will have to wait and see.
No - I don't think he has a glass jaw. I think he is the most embarrassing thing to come out of the UK since..... pfft.... I can't think of anything.... probably the athletics team of Atlanta 1996. He isn't blessed with even a reasonable chin, it is very questionable. But he wouldn't be in the top 5 P4P British glass jaws.
Here is how I KNOW Fraudley has a Glass Jaw: He was continually put in there with opponents that had extremely low KO rates. That tells me that like his countryman Amir Khan his management KNEW that his Chin was total garbage and they did not want to risk the cash cow getting brutally KOed early in his career. The guy also fights timid as hell in there he is clearly afraid to take a punch ANY punch for that matter. Then we have a guy like Sprott who knocks him spark out cold. All the evidence was there from the beginning just like it was with Amir Khan yet some people refuse to acknowledge it even to this day.
Current fighters? Dr. Vitali Klitschko Andrade as much as I hate to admit it James Toney there are several others who have never been knocked out in embarrassing fashion like Margarito was.
When Audley first turned pro, he managed himself and selected his opponents. With a £1m deal from the BBC in his back pocket, he was selecting opponents based on their financial demands rather than building toward an eventual British title, followed by Euro and world honours. He doesn't have heart for it I agree, and does fight scared, but this is a mental issue. Johnny Nelson was much the same as a fighter, but his chin isn't in question - though he suffered only one stoppage loss in his 12 defeats. Khan's chin problems have been well known before he even went to the Olympics..... and was illustrated perfectly when he fought Willie Limond - who in my mind handed him his first stoppage loss. Fighting in the completely wrong weight class doesn't help. The guy has absolutely nothing in his legs. Then again, a move to 140 will result in the opponent's punches hurting more.... but his ability to take them will increase = same result. Someone lands on him and it is all over of course.
