What is a definition of a paper title? Is it when the title is not worth **** (ie paper) and was won via two crap boxers one champion (who never was really a champion) vs one challenger. Despite there being other more worthy champions.. For example David Haye vs SNV the shitfest fight that was for WBA crown? Or is it if the two undefeated fighters fighting for the belt that has been left vacant and are filling the void? For example Froch vs Pascal for the WBC belt? which one do you consider to be paper?
like toney's iba or something belt wtf is that supposed to be a belt no one knows of yet he is world champ
Have you seen the Froch v Pascal fight. That was one awsome fight. Full on slugfest with no defense anywhere.
neither. a paper champ is when an active fighter loses his belt due to politics, and two undeserving fighter fight for the vacated belt. i.e. when margo got stripped for fighting cotto, and clottey and judah fought for the belt.
I felt Froch deserved it but I really enjoyed that fight. Last decent fight on ITV. I remember Khan was fighting Oisin ***an on the same night pay per view. Who watched that shite. Then a title shot 2 fights later.
as mentioned before.... paper title usually is when a fighter wins the title by vacancy or they hand picked a popular fighter who is not champion against a weak top ten fighter of the division to fight for a title.

It is what you do with it that makes it a paper belt. Erdei for example racked up many defences against nobody so I always considered him a a paper champ.
