Are you serious? Number 1, that's irrelevant. Number 2, you don't know what you're talking about. Lewis beat Briggs, then beat Holylfield to unify all 3 titles afterwards. So yes, when he beat Holyfield, he was the lineal champ.

It's relevant in the context of your thread because the status of Lineal and undisputed champ was passed on through Briggs even though he beat Foreman who had NO BELTS, something you seem to argue can't be done. Foreman didn't lose his undisputed status in anyone's eyes when they took his belts away. The public thought Lewis was the best HW, but he had to fight Briggs to gain legit status.

As for the last part, I simply misread what you said.

    So yes, I'm very serious.

KG, read what I wrote. I clearly stated that the undisputed champ has to have all 3 major belts and the linear title. Was Lewis not the WBC/WBA/IBF/lineal champ after he beat Holyfield? The answer is yes. He beat Briggs(giving him the lineal title, you assume I didn't know this but I sure as hell did), then he beat Holyfield to unify the WBA/IBF belts with his WBC belt. Whether or not he beat Briggs before or after Holyfield is acutally irrelevant. Either way, he obtained undisputed status under my standards.

Read what I wrote. You just spent half your post explaining something I said I misread.

The other half is on you. I never said you didn't know he beat Briggs for the Lineal title. I pointed out that BOXING recognized that Briggs was THE champion PERIOD, without him holding any belts. He won it from Foreman who held NO BELTS (WBU isn't relevant). So having the belts is not necessary to pass on status as champion. That was the point.

By your standard, other fighters become champion without ever having to face the best fighter, because he was stripped. That is not what a champion is.

Either way, nearly everyone has tried to tell you these things. Keep arguing it. I'm bored now.

Read my standard again. I said you need all 3 major titles and the linear title. So no, Lewis would not have been undisputed without beating Briggs.
